It was on my list of things to do before I got really busy, cuz unfortunately there's no easy way to make addictions in Skyrim. At least, it's not as easy as it was for Fallout. Some day, if I get bored I'll try to update the mod! In fact, there are some things listed in the "soon to come" section that already exist, like loading screens.

Ever think of making it addictive? For example, you can get all the good effects, but they must be maintained not only to keep them, but to avoid a cumulative penalty from the bad effects. If you don't maintain the drugs in your system (maybe even having to increase the amount you take just to do so), then you can really start suffering as all of your vital stats start to plummet. Simulate not only doing drugs, but also the ravaging effects of addiction.

I know that this is your first mod but you could try to add a system which can get you addicted to certain drugs if you take them too often.(This is already part of the Fallout series)
