I've heard the superstition, buuuut.... is there REALLY buildings with 13 missing? Sounds far fetched, but I can't say I've been to a city with a population of more than 50,000. Our state office building didn't leave 13 out :P luckily

The thirteenth floor was removed because of the superstition that the number 13 means bad luck, so to avoid it, some places have the number is omitted. It doesn't actually mean bad luck, it's just a number, but that is the reason I've heard. I haven't been to a building without a thirteenth floor, but I do know there are some that lack one.

I may be wrong, but it's not the first time superstition lead to stupid things. It doesn't really matter, but it's still interesting.
