Right now, you can still play with this... with this crappy (lol) sound effect from this mod, otherwise you can also try my RES3 mod (explosion sounds are very similar, but much more HQ and without any ear ringing). There's this CPR Sounds that I have been developing for a looong time, creating a lot of hype from the community. Right now, it is pretty much abandoned. Well... The old version is abandoned. I'm right now creating the best, most realistic well entertaining sounds I can. They are not saturated and repetitive, but they are realistic, shocking, simple and follow a immersive pattern. I've shot a Rossi .38 SPL revolver some time ago, in a open field area, without ear plugs. The stun effect in my hearing was like someone hard "crack" clapping next to my ear. Maybe the effects were not that bad because it was not inside a building or something like that. This is an outdated mod, and now I understand that the ringing effect for explosions is a bad idea... The samples are repetitive, they do not follow a straight pattern. They are excessive for a game that is not even close to a simulator. Players spam grenades just like kids playing with snow balls in the winter park. It's ridiculous, and most players will get tired of experiencing the same effect over and over again. Some of them are even buggy. So... Don't expect a new mod with ear ringing effect. Maybe when Source engine gives modders more tools and more modularity we can make the (almost) perfect ear ringing effect possible.

Be carefull, use Explosion sounds 3 , this one is really too extrem haha. But interesting experience!

Oi meu adorei o mod exceto o ruido agudo, que me parece um bocado demasiado. Talvez se reduzir um pouco, porque em mapas de sustained combat o pessoal so atira granadas la para o fim e nao se ouve nada a nao ser o ruidinho.

I read the description on 3 and 2 and then decided to go for this one. Good god! It was the litterally definition of "jarring". after about 2 rounds I feel like I was getting PTSD.

Definitely not for the light of heart. That shrapnel fx is pure gold. I have never felt so startled by a grenade blowing up behind a wall next to me in a video game before. I'm going to fav and like this mod but I'm going to unsub it...puss out and sub to Version 3 instead. The bonus PSTD effect is too much for me.

Goes really well with "Urban Realistic Sound Mod" and 5.1 surround sound.

Hey Shiggy, you should enter my profile and see all my mods for Insurgency. I've already done RES3, wich is a much more realistic and HQ sound mod thank this, and without ear ringing. The explosion samples are similar. Hope you like it. There is also ACE2 CSMP, with total revamp sounds for Insurgency, including RES3.1. Thanks for the feedback!

The ear ringing is SO ANNOYING!

If you try to understand my soundmod, you will see that the ear ringing is contained in the explosion sound samples, not in a separate audio file. This is because I can't change the vanilla overpressure sounds, and Source Engine scripting to add new samples is only for the devs. That's why I've created RES3. It has similar and even more realistic and HQ sounds like this one, but without ear ringing. RES1 is my second mod for Insurgency, with low quality sounds.

the explosion sounds themselves arent half bad, but the ringing is awful.

the ringing comes from the explosion source, and not inside my ears, this means that if i walk back and forth to a recent explosion, the ringing will become louder and softer depending on the deistance between me and the explosion. same thing when i turn my head, the ringing doesnt stay in one ear, it switches between left, right, and both depending on which direction im facing, not at the time of the explosion, but rather as the ringing is still going on.

the ringing also sounds off. im one of those people that hears a loud blaring ringing noise in their ears when it gets super quiet, so im very much used to ringing in my ears. the one in this mod just doest sound like it.

also apparently v3 is without the ear ringing, so ill go to that one now.

Hey Devil, It's not my fault that the ringing sound is fixed in the explosion's mark zero: The ringing, shrapnel and explosion sounds are all together in a single .wav, so they all work at the same time, at the same place. Before I try to do something like you requested, I would need to contact developers to [try] change Source Engine's SFX script, and it is a really hard job. Thanks for the feedback!

can you make it so that if my left ear is ringing, the ringing stays on the left side?

Oh thank you! I cant wait for the newest version. I loved this one, but the ear ringing felt just a bit too long for me. Realisticly, the ringing you made would only occur if the grenade exploded right next to your ear... which would kill you, thus making this mod kindve pointless. Anyway, great work, and I am looking forward to the newest version.

glad to hear update coming soon, looking foward to migrating to this mod from part 1. But please, we really don't need ringing... Would be nice to just have deafening effect like it is now, and focus on letting us hear those sounds you worked hard on instead of the ringing stealing the show. Also it's very annoying the ringing, don't know if you updated yet but it is still very long! Just get rid of it! please!

At what point is the ringing activated? I found that the ringing lingers on while I am dead and spectaing. Is this part of the mod, or a glitch?

Guys, I'm finishing the update! Explosion sounds are the same, but the ringing sounds ~ 1 - 1,5 seconds long! Hope you guys like it.

I like this mod but the ringing is both too loud and long. Even if it's from far away. Had to uninstall it because of that.

I find the ear ringing a little too loud in conjonction with another soundmod. Altough, I love the idea of making the game more and more realistic... I wish it could be a little less noisy. Good job making it feel fading from one ear to another.
