The hammer work is very good, though the puzzle itself leaves something to be desired, as it is extremely simplistic.

Preaty much a well done underground map.
The visuals are hard to do in underground theme ( i have experienced that myself), so I won't say much about that. The amp was lighted, everything was visible, that is good enough.
The puzzle was simple, just had to look around for the cube dropper and find out where did the cube sapwn. Everything else was easily spotted.

I love the fact that you putted a lot of invisible walls to not go where you shouldn't and than call the map "Restricted View".
All in all, a well done map indeed.

Cool map :p2cube: My only suggestions for improvement would be to use a game sound (the we can hear the special musical FX for the gel) and shut it off completely once the player finishes the test, and also to add a soundscape (env_soundscape; I used playsoundscape ug_sphere_water_01 , which is a nice starting point for underground-themed soundscapes inside testing spheres).

It's an ok level, so I did thumbs up on it, but it was frustrating to have to retrace my steps more than once. Part of the issue is the first bounce wasn't landing properly, and I had to give an extra jump since the platform wasn't high enough.

Thanks again for your comments guys! jovilas, I used a tool that you can download if you have bought Portal 2 called Hammer World Editor. It is used to make maps for source games, and once you have learned it, it is pretty fun and easy to use. :)

This beam gave me the impression i wasn't meant to go to the gel island. But what I was doing was walking off the platform to fling, not jumping off.

Thanks, everybody for your comments! VxD, as for your comment, there is a little water drip that comes out a pipe, so if you get your cube covered in repulsion gel, just wash it tunder there. As for a couple of other comments, I would like to know what the 'beam' is that you are all talking about, as I can fix it in the next update of this map. Thanks again for your feedback! :)

I really like it, my first try to bring the reflective cube passing under the blue paint was chaotic, as the cube jumped and fall and surprise me. But then I manage to bring the cube without puting paint on it, and fine. Nice puzzle ! :)

Although lack of direction is a good thing, it wasn't clear what I was meant to be doing to get to the exit.
For instance, that beam prevented me from landing on the island the gel was emmiting from, so I assumed I wasn't allowed to go there. With lack of direction (as hinted by title), I ended up using the gel to bounce up and over the wall into the laser part, thinking that was the legit way.
Then I realised you had to jump, not just walk off (my bad), to fling to get to the gel island.

Despite this, the aethetics are true to 70s Aperture and the puzzle was very satisfying. Thumbs up!

Thanks for your advice, Ben24x7. As said in an earlier comment, I will raise the beam above the repulsion gel jump. Also with the 'easter egg' I will remove it from the description. Also, it was for looking out over the map like a good observation room should :) Thanks for playing guys, glad you enjoyed. :)

As for the "Easter Egg", A. don't tell where it is to other players, the entire point of an Easter Egg is that the player finds it themself without the Developer's help, otherwise the player feels "robbed" (also, players have a tendancy to explore sometimes before they continue, so they can stumble across it without help), and B. I wouldn't call it an 'Easter Egg", its just an extra room with nothing special other than a quick line from Cave Johnson about "Sticks and Old Newspapers cluttering up the Building".

But again, despite this, its alright. The design of the Test fits the Theme very well.

This is an example of a (nearly) good test; Its not too simple that the player feels they are wasting time but not too hard that it takes an hour or so to solve, Its just right.

The one problem I found was taking the Laser Displacement Cube to the other side of the map; Usually I would hit a low beam and either would be saved from death (and lose the cube) or it would push me downwards so I hit the wall behind the Replusion Gel platform and drown. It takes a while to figure out that you don't need to take the Cube using Repulsion Gel. But still, it would be helpful if you lifted the beam on the platform before the one with Repulsion Gel.
