Pretty sad you can't just disable or cut the sound when you respawn.
Or at least make it shorter.

it doesn't really have anything in it other than the sound file, and a couple lines of code saying "play this as the death sound" basically, or shouldn't. Perhaps you installed some other stuff at the same time?

It isn't a problem with the addon, it works perfectly fine for me, are you sure it doesn't work? Keeping in mind that a lot of the time you need to restart your game when changing selected addons for them to work, and also remember that death sounds like this only work in sandbox.
Make sure that you don't have any other conflicting mods enabled either, but other than that, there isn't really anything I can do as it seems to not be a problem with the actual addon.

@Star0Gaming No, there isn't, and as it would be a very annoying feature if there was, especially if you were playing in multiplayer with it, because everyone else would be slowed down.
