The game hasn't been updated in for ever and the mod works. Make sure you're on the classic camera in control settings.

How does this work? I can't zoom out any more than normal.

If you are subscribed to the mod and it is activated on the launcher it's activated in the game. Although there are probably better mods out there you might want to check them out.
