why is she terrible why is her only upside double damage at night

drxmrr: they reached out to the creator of this mod here. Don't assume people just go randomly onto other peoples mods to advertise their own for no reason. AmaLee hasn't been working on this for 5 years, I don't know it this mod still works. For someone else who has a recent, updated mod who does just the same to come here to point people to a similar mod that is actually working is mostly highly appreciated, especially if a beloved mod hasn't been updated in years and the creator hasn't made a sound in years.

I fully *disagree* with MILA. Charlie wasn't always the night monster, or personified darkness. If you take in the lore, this mod makes perfect sense. Adding/modifying what you're suggesting would only make her as OP as all the other OP characters out there. My suggestion would be..."MILA", if you want it done differently, than stifle it and make your own.

Why is she damaged by the night and why is her sanity low if anything she should:
1: Be able to switch personalities to one that is stronger and sanity doesn't go down.
2: Shouldn't be attacked by night or take less damage.
3: She Should attack lighter as her "nicer" personality.

She Shouldn't take damage from the night moster since se is the night monster

I had an idea, what if instead of or in addition to dealing more damage in the dark, she has some special abilities related to shadows. Maxwell has some abilities with his Codex Umbra that correlate to shadow creatures, but they're mostly utility-based, the only combat-based shadow stinks. Charlie could be something of a reverse, with multiple different shadow creature minions that are based around combat, each of them having a unique means of attack. I'll have to think about how she should summon them though, as she probably wouldn't depend on the Codex or any similar objects...

I think that making she take no damage from the ''night monster'' is somewhat impossible to implement, so maybe being able to see in the dark is kind of more accurate for her?

@skadojan Hey, I like your ideas. I agree that she should not have full damage during the day. Actually I think this mod needs a total revamp to better reflect her split personality, as well as balance her out.

Hmm, maybe instead of taking damage from being in total darkness (can't hurt herself), she could instead have 0% movespeed (can't move)?

I'd change damage multipliers: Day 0.75x (wendy), Dusk 1x (wilson), Night/Cave 2.0x (Full Wolfgang). The increased sanity drain in caves should help make up for the 2.0x strength.

Still a little too strong...maybe have all nearby shadow creatures target her automatically (if another player is insane near her)...might be able to get some code from Willow's Bernie.

I assume so, since Walani/Wendy/Wolfgang all have sanity effects that work this way--well, only Walani's affects items, the others only sanity/time effects from monsters/darkness.

Also, maybe giving her a free pass for the creation of shadow items (Magic tab). This, sure, is only suggetions, don't get me wrong, i am thankfull for the mod, it's just that i feel that something is missing...
And charlie is not "The Dark", she is the queen, but she is atatched to the board like all others characters, don't starve is about not been able to trust, not even in your shadow - specially in your shadow.

Loved the art model, if i may, id' like to talk about the perks. Charlie is strong at night at the same level as maxwell is. The fuel of the darkness is not about strenght (damage multiplier) in my point of view, this just creates unbalanced character, she should not be this strong. I mean x2 damage?
