i cant get it to lift off (even from the moon...) is it not supporting its own weight?

Thanks haha, I love this little bug, too. Small yet versatile, simple to build yet visually pleasing. I even like to look at it today though it has only the simplest of armor block shapes.

Thanks a lot for the compliment! You can add me, though I won't be playing SE a lot for the time being. SE used to be a lot more stable. I'll come back when Keen gets their stuff fixed and some actual life in their universe.

JD, I absolutely love the forward canopy you designed for the Hydra, and if you'd like to see, I used the concept in one of my own ships.

the programmable block was mostly of decorative use back then. In my actual build of the Hydra the block can actually be used for a planet travel assistant system.

What's the text in the programmable block supposed to be? It wouldn't let me build it throught the projector, I had to hand place it. (and a few other things)

Well thanks for sharing your thoughts. I built this as a anti-fighter/flak corvette. But I could additionally create a gunship style of corvette.

I like the ship, sorry if i get a bit nerdy here, i am a big fan of the x-series of games and the hydra corvette is the weakest corvette in game cos its made by the boron. A corvette is a ship with powerful foward facing weapons and a small broad-side abilitie, however it must also be fast and small as it bridges the gap between heavy fighters and frigates or destroyers. it should also be able to hold its own with smaller frigates because of its high speed and maneuverabilitie, and relatively powerful weapons. Maybe add a couple missile launchers to the front? not turrets. this is a great ship though, i really like the glass cockpit.

This is an anti fighter - meteor warship that used to protect the main ship right? Not a ship used for dogfight and face to face against the enemy turrets? Then the front glass windows won't be a problem. If it is, you can just build a new flight seat in the centre of the ship, located near the med bay for your combat bridge.

Well, I didn't say it's perfect. It's just a nice corvette for exploration mode that you can hopefully find in this vast galaxy and, as you all are engineers, you can modify it as you desire. Would be boring if this ship would be perfect.

i agree with Aarius on all points outside of "forward facing turrets." i fully understand your want of good turret coverage for the intended targets, but a more pressing issue is desync. in mp games, moving forward and firing forward at any decent speed will cause the weapons to shoot themselves. i typically take more damage from my own weapons than i do from enemy ships...

I've always had a gripe that without the armour slopes making ships look smooth and not blocky was really hard. This is something you have achieved with ease. I bow down before your general awesomness.
Now time for some battle testing...

I prefer to build my ships to be functional without third person mode, so I fully agree with the decision to use windows.

Beeing able to actually see something isn't a "weakspot" in my book.

I almost aways give my ships glass windows. LOL. i have no idea why, I know it's a weak spot, but i prefer the look over function. maybe if I was designing a ship to use in PvP combat I'd think differently.

@DarkExcalibur42. At least you added grils to your windows to strengthen them, I don't even do that. :)

@Aarius: Its a corvette, it will fight against multiple light targets at once, hence the turret configuration. Interior space guaranties good access and possible repairs to all components. Your right about the glass bridge, but I couldn't resist giving it this look ;)

Nice ship. A few forms over funtion, but can be modified to be a real sleek killer.

My humble but experienced oppinion:

Pros: Great style, simple, sleek, inexpensive, well armed.
Cons: Glass bridge is obvious target and weak spot on nose. Weapons are in line (extend rear gatling out one more block to get 4 forward firing turrets), Interior space is nice but pointless. I suggest turing your core inwards and adding a gravity drive.

An interesting concept, it kind of remember me of the corvette from Conquest, although it looks wuite different.
