Thats what i did!
I should've specified further
a combine soldiers insignia will change into a different one on death (doesn't matter if you have keep corpses or not)
i tried using different vmt proxies but they all had the same issues

@UNIT1 how? i always test stuff in gmod before uploading to half life 2. you need to port the entire file, not just the textures, include all of the original VMTs, all of them have the "UniformNoise" proxy and that's the most important

I tried porting it
sadly though i can't seem to figure out a way to make the RNG symbols work
they change symbols when dying
probably due to gmods different way of spawning npcs

i don't really port my mods to gmod, other people usually do it with my permission and i recommend checking it out. i don't know if they'll port this but make sure to check i guess

I always thought it was weird they had the same battalion insignias even though they are in fairly varied areas. I guess a lore reason is that they are the finest the combine can get out of normal soldiers, but idk.

@Tub0rG I could make it out of all of them, and I could also make it so every individual npc has a different insignia so it really looks like they're scattered around white forest. But that type of RNG has the well known problem of regenerating when they ragdoll and also on any type of map load.

Well, yeah, with some exceptions like the metrocop pants ofc.

But in general, blue & cyan are the characteristic of the retail combine.

I wish this was compatible with this mod: (Improved Vanilla Combine + Dynamic Glow) just the glowing eyes part. But have it in the way where the models could share the battalion insignias and eyes go dark upon death.

Just a suggestion, but I’d recommend recoloring the green combine battalion logos to blue, it fits the combine more in my opinion
