Hilariously, the Brazilian sponsor version of the automated rare metal extractor is also affected by this. But that's not a surprise given the abundance of larger issues that got through.

thanks @JonFuklaw ! I updated, now the PlasmaCutters should be affected the Automated Extractors. (should work on Savegame)

Bug: Automated rare metal extractors are not affected by Plasma Cutters tech.

@Del Its intended to be expensive and less efficient since it saves you from having to use colonists.

Personally, it's saved my bacon in playthroughs more than a few times.

Early game life savers.

Any plans to bring over the automated electronics and machine parts factories? Those saved my bacon more than a few times in the original game, and still felt balanced because of their small production and high power requirement.

Looks like it was a pathing issue, as Commisar JF was referring to. After another reconstruction of the same Automated rare metals extractor, the drones are now (finally!) maintaining it normally.

Well, they are emptying the automated rare metals extractor, but only of rare metals. They are leaving the waste rock to build up. So, they aren't ignoring it, just failing to empty the waste bin.

To answer the below question: There are still issues with drone tasking/pathing in the vanilla game. Drones will refuse to use a closer waste dump if there is space in one that is in range of the controller and built earlier on, even if it is further away. This can result in extractors simply not getting emptied out.

Yes. I tried destroying and rebuilding the extractor as well.
Tried moving it's location (still close to a dump site).
The drones remain uninterested in emptying the waste rock, but only where the rare metals extractor is concerned. The regular metal extractors are operating normally and are being maintained normally.

Just to say, I love the implementation of this version of automated extractors.

Unfortunately, I seem to be having some difficulty with the rare metals extractor; drones refuse to empty out the waste rock bin.

@rolandocp96 sorry no. I'm affraid there is no Console command available for Console platforms :(
your unique way should be to create a New Game and enable my special GameRule

@Chris, to open the Console you need to run the game in debug mode instead of regular mode.
After that in-game press just Enter , a command-line box will appear at the bottom.

How do you open the console in game? I've tried ~ like google says but it just seems to cycle through stuff in game.

I just submitted a new fix for RxResearch Mod fixing critical issues with the Scenario and triggers.
Normaly it should work with the savegame. I don't know if the initial issues with the BuildMenu will be fix with that.

If the extractors still hidden after researching the tech, try both commands:

UnlockBuilding("RxAutomatedPreciousMetalsExtractor")
UnlockBuilding("RxAutomatedMetalsExtractor")

Update: I'm reviewing the code and Events. It seems something was broken or changed in the Event system during the "-1 day-one" patch (just before the release).

Many triggers are not triggered :steambored: I'm working on a fix. I hope it's the key.

Only the auto extractors require research, others are ready to be built without research and do not show up in the research tree either.

For some reason when I went in and manually enabled the mods in the correct order (Framework, then Agency, then any others) it now works for me and properly shows *both* the automatic metal and rare metal extractors as well as populating the research menu.

@Dash: I used the game rule to skip the event/scanning for a new save to check and with that everything works perfectly interestingly enough.
So kinda the workaround for now I guess.

Please, ignore the order showed in the mod manager.
Loadorder is invisible. Loadorder =Enable(click) order finally.

I feel like this is kind of a mod load error but the mod manager has no specific order to sort it in. Even when i sort by "enabled first" and click Framework first, it goes alphabetical and throws framework into the 4th or 5th down.

I appreciate that they put a mod manager in the game, but dear god is it bad.

I tried that three times, no change, it did however rearrange the order of the little building icons though, oddly.

I managed to reproduce some issues reported here. and mostly due to a bad loadorder.

In the Mod Manager :
- Disable all mods, and leave the Mod Manager to rest all properly
- Back to Mod Manager, and enable each mod one by one in the right order

- Rx Mars Framework <== very important
- RxResearch Agency
- all other rx mods...

No change after entering that command, however also absolutely nothing showed up at all when I pressed Enter. No confirmation noise or box to type.

Thanks for your feedback, the problem is very weird and I can't to reproduce it...
It seems to have different results... sometimes you can have the metal auto extractor, but not the rare metal version. sometimes, the tech is no available, no blueprint... and other cases :steamfacepalm:
I'm continuing to investigate.

if someone can try this command via the console, and give the result:
- in-game press Enter and type (or copy/paste):
RemoveBuildingLock("RxAutomatedPreciousMetalsExtractor")
- and re-press enter.

Normally the building should be availalble in the Buildmenu > Production or (in submenu where there the vanil!a rare metals extractor.

@Tarkhax Like others my Rx tech tree is empty even though I've found the comm tower and built it inside a dome.

The tower *can* have things purchased but it does not populate my tech tree, but the odd thing is that *other* buildings (medium fuel refinery, medium water tank/oxygen tank) all work correctly and are populated in the build menu.

Only the auto-extractors do not show up in my build menu.

Just adding in that none of the buildings are showing up when purchased, I added this onto a saved game too. Did the load one by one in that order and got the anomaly to show up, but when I purchase the blueprint there's no option to build them.

@Dash I've followed all your troubleshooting tips including load order and the console command and still got no automated extractors.
The large Universal Depot worked perfectly fine though.
And the [RX]Research column is empty. It's weird.

I've unlocked the comm tower for the RX mod and I can setup automated metal mining but I can't see the rare metal one? Is it another unlock somewhere?

@Dash I've only found the comm tower so far, will report back once I've managed to build it if everything works fine or I've got the same problem as valagar if you'd like.

@valgar Unfortunately, I didn't mange to reproduce your issue. maybe something wrong with the loadorder.
Try to disable all mods.
than, renable one by one in this order:
- Mars Framework
- RxResearch Agency
- all buildings mods...

If the Techfield is hidden after realoding your Savegame:

- Press enter to open the console, and write this: g_RxScenarioStep4 = true
- Pres enter to validate the command
- Save your game
- Reload your savegame

@Dash i done that, i bought blueprints for automated extractors medium fuel refinery and large storage. Storage and refinery are available from build menu, extractors are not visible.

@valagar, could you confirm if you followed the tiny scenario to unlock the RxCommTower. After that, you need to build the tower in Dome. Then select the tower to buy (from the infopanel) each building or tech.
