@tajemnikTV the speed is same if u play on 5 speed in vanilla with maximize tick speed, this mod is only useful if u play on anything below 5 speed so multiplayer games and especially if you don't use "maximize tick speed" setting because that makes your performance way worse

The version I'm playing is 1.0.7. In the previous mod version, after manually adjusting the army and navy movement speeds, the experience seems to be closest to the original, with a 30% speed improvement. Hope this helps.

This mod appears to make it impossible to move ships through the Atlantic to the new world. Attrition just ticks way too fast

@crGrci haven't tested it yet after they added the maximize tick speed setting but if you're playing SP on 5 speed then you don't really need this mod

The mod is more effective if you play on lower speeds in SP or MP in general since the difference is largely noticed when going at anything below 5 speed.

Is there any difference between this mod and just running the game at speed 5? At that speed my game is running daily instead of hourly.

Accidentaly deleted the comment. We unsubscribed and subcribed several times with no change. After a few hours it got fixed by itself. I think maybe steam just downloaded the old version even after unsubscribing and subscribing again.

@sillybilly 雪猴 sometimes the mod doesn't update so they all have to unsubscribe and subscribe again, also if you're using different mods alongside it everyone needs to have same load order

i think it mess with the combat had a fleet of 25 light ships and 7 heavy ships lose to a fleet of 24 transports

I will need to test more to see if I can do it or not but for now I think game speed in MP has higher priority than having the vanilla combat speed

@urioTV honestly that's what I wanted to do cuz I like vanilla combat speed but for some reason when the speed of battles is left the same way as before there's a bug that happens where morale is gained quicker than lost so your stuck in battles where people fight till the end without losing morale, I've looked around for a "morale recovery speed" define but I couldn't find it, that's why the combat damage I left just as vanilla almost but morale damage I had to fully compensate it otherwise like I said u gain quicker than u lose morale

I don't know if it is possible but honestly It would be nice that during battles hourly ticks are used but outside of that daily ticks.

i almost wonder if a 2 ticks per day mod would be a good balance for singeplayer as then armys could be basically the same speed

i do also think maybe you should make a fully adjusted movment version or submod lol i need my armys to be sonic

@小月猫 you explained it better, the reason for not entirely compensating the speed of armies & navies was because armies move so fast and it's not balanced and fun to micro in MP especially during PVP (which is the main point of this mod)

also, i did the math on the combat if anyone was interested "When it comes to combat there's 2 values changed COMBAT_DAMAGE_MULT in vanilla 0.01 in the mod 0.06, COMBAT_HOURLY_MORALE_TICK in vanilla 0.01 in the mod 0.1"


so combat damage multiplier was changed by a factor of x6, which is only half the damage in a given day as vanilla, so battles are, in theory, twice as long to complete

morale however got a big boost, a full 10x, so almost entirely compensated

if hour ticks were changed to day ticks, thats a difference of x11 (theres 11 hours in eu5 per day), the army move speed of .13 to .4 is only a x3 difference, if before the army had 11 possible ticks to move within a given day, it now has just 1, thus mathematically the movement speed had to be increased by a factor of x11 to match the movement per given period of time as it had in vanilla

that explains why so many people are talking about how it takes over a year just to cross their own country, the mod isnt fully compensating the movement speed so armies are actually roughly (11/3) = 3.9 times slower than vanilla

@kakarotmm12 I'm not sure how you came up with that conclusion but if you open up the game & mod files and compare the defines values that change ARMY_MOVEMENT_SPEED, in vanilla its 0.13 in the mod its 0.4. NAVY_MOVEMENT_SPEED in vanilla 0.5 in the mod 0.8

When it comes to combat there's 2 values changed COMBAT_DAMAGE_MULT in vanilla 0.01 in the mod 0.06, COMBAT_HOURLY_MORALE_TICK in vanilla 0.01 in the mod 0.1

hourly tick speed has essentially no impact on game performance or speed because hourly ticks are only checked for two things, army movement and combat ticks

For me, 100 years took 12 hours in vanilla...
I'm playing on the highest settings, but my computer isn't the weakest either. Still, thanks for the mod. I hope it won't be a problem for my current campaign.

@TiNan I changed the speed to match the new speed of the game so you won't notice much difference from how it played in vanilla, anything that worked with hourly ticks is changed slightly to adapt to the new speed.

If you notice anything that doesn't seem right let me know and i'll try to rebalance it

@Sibbey I'm not sure if you're talking about singleplayer or multiplayer but in multiplayer, the speed difference is astronomical even after 1400s 1500s
