Does the mod acccept metal barrel oven as a heat source? Because before update 42.13 it doesn't affect my character temperature.

im trying to replicate it but i run jumped over a fence and fell and it caused my winter hat to fall off which resulted in a major error

It seems to cause massive error dumps anytime a piece of clothing, like hats, fall off a zombie's head for some reason...weird right?

Hi this mod seems to kill my framerate once I added it to my game, I'm on Build 42.12.3 using the version you provided, and while I had this mod before in the same save, it didn't affect my FPS this much. I've gone from roughly 90-120 fps down to 25-40 fps just by having it enabled, does anyone have suspictions or clues as to why this is happening? Thanks :)

@AstrayCuriosity Yes when everything is closed and you have an active heat source it will warm the house up, and if you keep all the doors and windows closed the heat will stay inside even if you turn the heater off. There's a small passive leakage since no house is 100% insulated, but it's only dropping the heat by like 0.1-0.3 degrees every hour

@AstrayCuriosity Technically if you go by thermodynamics it will be the same temperature indoors as outdoors if you have no active heat source in the house and there are open doors/windows. With no heat source the warm air will move out from the house given enough time.
I will be adding so that if a house has electricity, then it will be assumed to have central heating and will actively warm up the house, but with no electricity or other heat source a house will reach the same temperature as outdoor in the correct circumstances.

@RedChili I mean... if you open all the windows and doors in a house it's still impossible for building to have exactly the same temperature. During -30C it still would be around 0, -10 depends. And even if you leave building for a while like that lets imagine to freeze inside it sitll will have solid temperature difference. Which I expected from this mod when I saw it. Do you plan on expanding that?

@AstrayCuriosity It's supposed to make the inside around the same temperature as outside yes, and right now the power doesn't affect it, but I will be adding so that if you have power on in the house, it will passively heat up, and only if you have open doors/windows will it drop the temperature inside.
For now you need to either turn on the oven/fireplace in the house and close all windows/doors, or find a heater, either electric or propane powered and turn those on.

Can you explain in deth how temperature supposed to work? It has the same value inside and outside with/without open sources and doesn't seem to update I've waited for hour for example. Is it broken? If power is on is also affect nothing it's like building is stone cold.

How to know if the mod is working?

Actually noticed it still generated error everytime a zombie losing part of their clothing upon hit.(bandana, cap, hat etc) While item drops on the ground - error popup.
And is it normal that every building even with shut openings have exactly the same temperature as outside?

Anyone having errors on 42.13, try unsubbing and resubbing to the mod as well, and then enable just the "Realistic Temperature" mod, not the 42.12 version.
There was an issue with the clock but it has already been fixed, sometimes steam just doesn't push mod updates properly, so unsubbing and resubbing fixes it most of the time.

@Soup, the error means you are on the 42.13 version. If you have the latest version of the mod it should show you two versions of the mod in the mod list when you enable it. One called B42.12 version, you need to use that one. If you don't see it, try unsubbing and re-subbing to the mod.

I will take another look for the errors on 42.13

errors on 42.13, when i put on a watch it's just infinite errors until I take it off, it will then cause 1 error even 5 mins maybe. all watches did this. not sure if i'm supposed to put errors here or in discussions

Food freezing outside if the weather is cold enough is such an amazing feature. Helps so much with preservation. Can't wait for it to get added!

I don't know why the devs haven't already implemented something like that when the game already has challenge runs like endless winter.

Ok, i have done that. But the old save doesnt load. Although its the not converted save. Is there a trick i missed?

@donnfindelmel You can right click Zomboid in the steam library, go to properties > betas > change it to 42.12.X
