Small suggestion. For balance, it may be best to add some cost to first take the decision. 300 influence (or something) seems pretty fair I'd think?

Yeah its really stupid by Paradox in vanilla game as Emperor we cannot use decision to send house members to exams.

Well that decision was made by Paradox so I won't be touching it on this mod. You can still use the interaction

So, I tested in vanilla, only if you are playing a governer can you see "command family to attend examniations" under the "Administrative decisions" section of the "Decisions and great projects" window.
The Playing the emperor, I cannot see and use this decision. Maybe it's intentional, I'm not sure.

What specifically do you not see while playing the Emperor?

I don't see it when I play the emporor of china? (I can see it if playing a vassal) I'm not sure if my other mods interfering with something... I'll go check later.

In theory, you can automatic send to exams using the decision Paradox implemented on the latest patch, so you should try that one.

I believe I have fixed the issue now, along with a couple of other minor bugs.

There's a problem... I have feudal vasals ( Tibet), and when I try to promote to postion, it replaces my feudal vassals's vassals in tibet, when It should only replace existing celestial government type vassals?

Absolutely, the mod will stay for the additional features anyway so don't worry about it disappearing

Depending on how the Paradox feature works, I may remove the examination feature from this mod. But unless the Paradox feature can do everything that this one can (ask house members, ask courtiers, ask to step down from post for exams), then I will leave this one.

Are you sure there are exams happening? Can you share the save file where you are having this issue?

This mod doesn't work my son hasn't once gone to an examination and only has completed the children's exam, he just refuses to go and when I tell him to the game doesn't register anymore exams taking place.

I have translated the new localization. I noticed that the original mod contained outdated Chinese text, so I moved it to the replace folder.

I have just published an update to the mod that allows you to directly use an interaction to secure a Title for your House Members, by spending influence. This will help with the character bloat we are currently experiencing, where even high Merit Rank characters are struggling to find positions. When Paradox fixes this, I will make this interaction more costly / restricted.

I have also updated to the latest version of BigBen's mod, which should fix some issues with the examinations that people pointed out.

Hi @King John, are you sure you have installed the mod correctly? To test that, I recommend loading a fresh save with only this mod, and start on the Emperor of Song. Check if you have the "Support My House" decision on the decision tab (it should be right below "Attempt Suicide" and above "Recruit for a Court Position").

Or, if you prefer a duchy tier character, you can selected Governor Han Shu of Huixun, of the Duchy of Huixun within Lingnan in South China.

If you do not see the decision, the mod is not installed properly. I recommend unsubscribing and resubscribing, and disabling any other mods in case of compatibility issues.

Hi! I'm having difficulty in understanding how the mod works -- I can't seem to take the decision to support my family, even if I'm duchy tier. I also can't tell people which path to follow nor can I send them to take examinations. How do I do these things?

@Spy Thanks for reporting that. I think you are correct, and I will look into fixing this for a future version.

That said, in game terms, the Palace Examination can be completed by scoring very highly on the Capital Examination too (you can complete both at the same time), so if you don't want to wait you could continue to send your characters to it until they eventually complete it (I checked on my save, and two of my three sons completed the Palace examination as well). That might work for your immediate issue.

The mod doesn't seem to account for palace exam or does it? I was able to send my house members to the capital exam a second time thinking they should be able to attend the palace exam, but it seems like they actually only do the capital exam, passing it again and getting the merit bonus in the process, but not attending the actual palace exam.

I'm running the same constellation, but so far the mod works perfectly as intended for me. Is your son really physically at your court or is he on the other side of China while stating "in your court"? If so, I've had that bug multiple times too, it's not connected to the mod but the DLC itself.

I was able to send my son to capital examinations with this. Could you please share your save file so I can verify what the error was?

While holding a manor in the capital Kaifeng, the examination was held in the capital. However, I could not send my son within my court to the examination because he was “not within diplomatic range.” How can this situation be resolved?
