I looked it up and that would probably be a good first mission in a Battle of Midway campaign I wanna make since it sparked the Japanese to attack Midway

Goofy, are you sure it didn't spawn you into another Lancaster the was going down? I noticed this happening to me sometimes and I would exit that plane and then I'd be in one that wasn't going down.

If not, can you explain in detail what happened?

I won the mission with literally one lancaster, also sometimes it doesn't spawn me in a new lancaster

@CoverFire I would've commented about it if it was this bad with the destroyer mission.

I strongly don't think it's 100% because of rendering the bombers, but it might be a factor, yeah. Using my vehicle pack for reference (since I know I heavily optimized every model in there), that bomber pack is double the file size despite having 1/4 of the number of vehicles (and that's counting those cannons). I'd of course ask just to know for sure, but I have my suspicions.

Calc, it is possible but the script is very similar to the one from the B-17 mission, so it may be a combo of things. Did you have any issues with the destroyer fleet escort mission? Bc that spawned in a lot of AI planes through the Script as well

Calc, thanks for the feedback. Lowering the bot count won't do anything bc I'm spawning in all the AI planes (minus the few AI once spitfires and the player spawn) in the Script. Which allows me to spawn in the waves of the enemy planes ahead of and near the Lancasters since the planes move so fast.

@CoverFire Verifying the integrity didn't change anything. However, after replaying twice, lowering the proportional bot count to 50%, and lowering render distance to 50%, I strongly think it happens when I look at a large horde of planes. The frame rate lowers every time I look straight up and never when I look down. It's sometimes fine when I look forward + back and to the sides, but from what I see, it gets worse when the bombers + other fighters are within view. I still experienced this the exact same way after lowering the bot count by 1/2 so I'm not sure if it's a bot problem either.

I don't know what change to make. I'd say to just leave it as it is if no one else reports it, as it could just be my computer. If more people report the same thing then I'd take a look.

@CoverFire I'm guessing it's the AA fire, but I'll verify the files and try again just to be sure.

Calc, have you tried verifying the integrity of your game files on Steam? I find this helps at times.

Also yes, there are plans to allow the player to be the escort as opposed to always in the bomber as I really enjoyed having that option in the fleet mission

@CoverFire Render distance was at 100%. I lowered it to 70% and it still happened.

Also yes, it would be nice to have sites for the guns but being able to see your machine gun fire helps and I utilize the cross hairs for this mission

Ghost, I certainly will do this in the future. It will just require some gameplay logistics to be figured out. It was much easier for the fleet mission bc they move so slow. Glad you're enjoying them!

For some reason, this mission immensely lowers my framerate in random intervals, which is not a problem I had with the other bomber mission. That + the fact that none of the gunners have any sort of sights whatsoever on their turrets makes the mission really unplayable.

I think a Spitfire player spawn would improve this somewhat, in case some want to defend the bombers as a fighter instead for a change.

The B-17 mission was a big surprise. Absolutely having a blast playing these. I hope you can make some more in the future where you can play as the defenders.
