currently i've got a setup with a powered vent that pumps the arc furnace offgas (and solid fuel generator exhaust) into a tank. or explodes if you throw in a bunch of uranium. that shit offgasses so much so fast, much faster than the powered vent.

i'm wondering how this arc furnace compares. trying it.
it never really made sense the vanilla arc furnace smelts at temperature high enough to melt metal but you put a chunk of ice in and it pisses all over itself.

tbh i just saw that pic of the arc furnace that just fired up a hydrogen fusion reactor and is gonna melt through the floor and was like "i require this to function."

so some people might not be aware of this, but all these ores and ices and etc. all have specific temperatures they melt and vaporize at. some old guy somewhere measured them that's gonna be the offgas temp. prolly. i don't really do math.

Just as a note - with the stock arc furnace you can offgas coal to get lots of hot CO2.
