The Mod Load order was borked. I manually downloaded the archives for RimSort and it finally fixed it. Sorry to have been bothering you :(

Why is it treating a ThingDef as an IncidentDef? That shows a serious, deep issue above and beyond this mod, as if this mod were that broken, I would have heard of it or saw it in testing. I'd be interested to see your full mod list. Are you running 1.6?

Hey I am getting alot of error messages with this one, all surrounding the Obelisk.
starting with this one:
XML error: <thingClass>CultOfCthulhu.Building_Monolith</thingClass> doesn't correspond to any field in type IncidentDef

Thank you so much for updating! Love playing with this again. If you're looking for suggestions, please add a check to the 'Aspect of Cthulu' ritual to prevent it from giving your colonist a tentacle they already have. I've rolled eye tentacles so many times even though they only have eyes transformed. No pressure! Again, thank you!

theres a bug where everytime i try to do a ritual it always ends up failing with a weird poppup after

And one more small issue, you can bypass research requirements when upgrading your alter

The forbidden knowledge center is classified as a Workshop station, instead of a research one, so it gains no benefits to being in a laboratory

Has anyone ever made a "Taste of Vanilla" type mod for this? I really /do/ like it, but its just so at odds with the rest of my game yah know?

Unfortunately, RimHammer uses a custom Jecs fork, SickTools, that changes a bunch of method names.

I just released a new version of Cosmic Horrors, see the link above.

The JecsTools contained within this mod can be used as a standard replacement for the JecsTools suite in most cases.

I will eventually part out exactly what is needed, it was just easier to throw the kitchen sink in to get it working and published. I likely won't ever repost the full tools, only include whatever is needed in the mods that need them.

I figured it out! I can use dev mode and select the cult altar to have all pawns have maximum cult interest. That instantly makes the cult generation pop up show

I started a new game with the mod installed but first wanted to focus on Ideology so ignored the cult research. After some time I wanted to form a cult so did all the reseach and built a temple already but no option to form a cult shows up. Am I too late?

@Anny if you refer to founding the grimoire on an asteroid or something? i guess not. but you can use character editor to max their cult need and if you discovered an entity it should trigger the cult initiation:KrilCelebrate:

i found a little error. Byakhees cant travel to space (or anywhere tbh) and they have their textures flipped (that may be on my end) :sadcthulhu:

Yes, you can skip JecsTools entirely and use Cosmic Horrors alongside this (the entire JecsTools suite is contained within). Just ignore it screaming that you're missing JecsTools. :)

For some odd reason, sermons will only successfully start when I'm in orbit (I'm currently on a gravship only run.) If I'm on the ground, then I just get an error in the log and nothing happens. Has anyone else had this issue and identified a mod conflict or reason? I'm still trying to figure it out myself.

My main priority is updating it and fixing any glaring issues. I assume that once some people who really care about it play it for a bit, I'll get new bugs to fix and possibly suggestions for improving it. It becomes a matter of time and will at that point. I do try to improve any mod that comes under my care, but with a day job, wife, and young kids ... well ... you see where I'm going here.

TLDR; will possibly make improvements at some point, bug fixes as immediately as possible.

Cool, thanks for bringing this back! I've always loved this mod, and I'm interested to see how the ideology integration works. I assume you'll be working on fixing bugs that pop up, but once that's settled a bit, do you plan on adding more stuff? maybe Odyssey integration, to put the 'cosmic' into cosmic horror? Either way, thank you again for porting.
