a way to get around the problem without downloading the mod is to save the army then load it in another roster of factions

That would be because the data files are older than the black sea colony update, so are not found in the data

To Celox: You should put the heroes though :/ And if you are/are not going to put them in say so plz.

Its because the wrath of Sparta version of Sparta does not have Heroes of Sparta in its unit roster. The custom battle for the wrath of Sparta factions only includes their unit rosters from the campaign

If this isn't working for you and you have a Mac/Apple comp I think ur out of luck cuz it didn't work until I did it on my Windows so RIP

I think they are already open for custom battles without this mod.

Besides it just not showing up, no. I'll try it on my windows and I'll let you know if that is the problem. (I just got a windows so thats why I didnt try this before :3 )

possibly. I know CA opened total war rome 2 up to mac not long ago. All my computers run on windows. From what i guess, using a Mac must be the promblem.Do you have any other issues with mods?

I dont know what promblem you all must be having, but it works perfectly for me with a variety of different mods. The issue must at your end.

the WOS factions should there own one when you choose factions. They should be the first 5 on the list then appears in the custom battle menu.

They don't show up when you click down so it opens the different factions. So do you mean that they are in one of the factions or are they supposed to be their own when you click down?

The factions are in their own individual rosters in the custom battle page. Make sure to check both Sparta factions (Or Athens) that appear to check.
