@Estoc Bestoc affinity also effects what tomes are available starting at tier 3, but ya having more purpose for affinities would be nice

I hope that in the future we get more systems which care about your affinity beyond the Empire tree, damage channels and events.

I get why they did what they did. And since these are base tomes, they are incredibly resistant to changes like this that would make a DLC-less game be troubled.

But they simultaneously started with plenty of design goals that they have since walked back, and added a bunch that diverged entirely. With the way affinities work from the core now, a lot of these pure affinity tomes are made less synergistic downstream.
