wow, suddenly people are making new mods after the workshop suddenly died

i should be on the recent version. just played a game earlier. it plays Freespace ambient music but the second i get into combat it's playing Homeworld 2 music. i'll just resub and try again later

Oof, 11 years old MediaVPs. In my personal opinion, I don't care much for the 20 year old look, the latest MediaVPs looks absolutely amazing and still screams Freespace.
I can definitely understand the possible performance issues tho, but I think there is different versions of MediaVPs for that! Some aren't as heavy for that exact reason.

So, right now the current assets use MediaVPs 3.7.2 (2014?) Which IMO are really great at keeping the original style of the ship designs from the original ones, like a slight remaster in current standards.

On another note, the newest MediaVPs use models that contain a way higher amount of polygons, which makes me think that it could cause performance issues on the game with many units spawned. I think the current models should be good enough, aside from the fact that importing the newest models would take long to process.

Will you work on getting the MediaVPs textures etc from Freespace Open?

Crazy that Freespace is being kept alive by a Homeworld mod instead of by Volition themselves, LOL.

I'm still surprise the love people have for games like Homeworld and Freespace and we still get mods like this, i don't have words for the appriciation I have! Mods are the saviour of games!
