Are both CE and Halo 2 Content needed?

i agree with DishTheWasher, if they want halo 2 then play halo 2, this should be halo CE. that's the mean reason i hate Halo3CE, it added halo 3 things when it shouldve just been halo 1.

Aggressiveness not necessary. I guess I need to explicitly state this is only speaking in reference to multiplayer and not the campaign, as there is only multiplayer available in the project currently. The multiplayer is explicitly designed with authenticity in mind as to provide, upon finish of the project, a platform for modding "CE" at a baseline, but with the features Halo 2 has at its disposal. If people want to mod the dual wielding into multiplayer or make modified maps that break that careful balance they will be more than free to once our tags are released.

I agree with Lemon Girl and Vaderfan1. Halo CE in Halo 2 with no big changes (whether gameplay wise or visually) = boring. At that point, I'd rather go back and play vanilla CE. At least H3CE knew what it was doing.

No, multiplayer was just crunched out the door for the Halo Mods showcase. We're planning on porting the campaign as well.

I get the authenticity angle, but I can just go back and play digsite multiplayer if I want Halo CE with new weapons with a sense of authenticity. It's Halo 2! Bring some of Halo 2's bread and butter in there!

We are considering the implications of adding dual wielding for certain weapons, but it's important to note that being authentic to the original game is one of our largest considerations; dual wielding understandably would be a massive departure from that. Halo CE is designed without dual wielding in mind, every gun has a very good spot in the roster as-is. Even our weapons added to fill the slots left by Halo 2's additions are done in such a way that they are closer to counterparts than uniquely new weapons. For an example of what would seem to be a large change: we opted to add stuff like non-grenade-boarding for specifically the tanks because in CE if any enemy is that close to your tank you're probably dead to begin with due to how damage transfer works, it's a flavor addition rather than primarily a gameplay one.
