Halo 2: Combat Evolved
A project to port the entirety of Halo: Combat Evolved into Halo 2's engine for MCC.
This includes taking advantage of new features of the engine where applicable, and in a way
that serves to enhance the experience of "Halo CE" rather than overwrite it.

This includes:
  • Accurate-to-CE but improved vehicle handling
  • Enhanced assets across the board
  • Enhanced lightings & effects
  • New & reworked extended weapons
  • Playable elites in multiplayer
  • Support for Halo 2's gametypes

All maps use their standard Halo CE (PC) weapon & vehicle spawns, added content currently exists as filler for Halo 2's added weapons in gametype settings. All alterations of non-CE additions are done with the goal in mind of the original's intention.

This test release currently has:
  • Blood Gulch
  • Chill Out
  • Hang 'Em High
  • Ice Fields

I get the authenticity angle, but I can just go back and play digsite multiplayer if I want Halo CE with new weapons with a sense of authenticity. It's Halo 2! Bring some of Halo 2's bread and butter in there!

We are considering the implications of adding dual wielding for certain weapons, but it's important to note that being authentic to the original game is one of our largest considerations; dual wielding understandably would be a massive departure from that. Halo CE is designed without dual wielding in mind, every gun has a very good spot in the roster as-is. Even our weapons added to fill the slots left by Halo 2's additions are done in such a way that they are closer to counterparts than uniquely new weapons. For an example of what would seem to be a large change: we opted to add stuff like non-grenade-boarding for specifically the tanks because in CE if any enemy is that close to your tank you're probably dead to begin with due to how damage transfer works, it's a flavor addition rather than primarily a gameplay one.

since i dont have any friends, can you make this into a campaign?
