To balance things out in VPE I used to set gaining experience from meditation to 0% so psytrainers were the only way to get new abilities and new psylink levels that were harder to get had more sence to be spend on upgading stats haha. But THIS seems fair too I might test it out as well

Agreed they throw off the balance at best or do nothing at worse. Maybe if they added x number of max levels per use and was rarer it would be better. Like say psy rank is 10 use one now you can get to 15 use a second now 20

@Sera they're worse than trash loot with vpe. normally you have to balance between unlocking powers you want to use, unlocking intermediate powers that get you closer to unlocking bigger powers you do want to use, and upgrading your psycaster's stats, all while keeping in mind that psycaster level is limited
but with psytrainers? you can put all points into psycaster stats and then buy trainers from exotic goods traders, which regularly sell multiple and can reliably be summoned
