but one time when i was making a rat playermodel i launched gmod to test it, it worked correctly, but when i posted it public it broke, i was so confused and still am

i aways had diffculty with vtfs and vmts, till this day i never understood much abt these and didnt try learning new commands for it, except for one time where i tried adding a selfillum command for an nick skin and when i tried adding an cartoony shading to my models for the first time... for no suprise i failed(they looked weird, the lighting on the model was weird, it was purple, and it had some scribbles in it, even tho i followed everything right on the valve site abt ligthwarp textures, so i removed the dark part on the lightwarp and it "fixed" it so i let it like that(the lightwarp texture not having the dark part are the reason my models go full bright when too close to light, tried to fix it but it never worked):steamsad:

i learned how to make addons seeing a vid abt "how to add your roblox avatar to l4d2", and i applied the same thing i learned with the l4d2 addons to gmod because i saw that gmod and l4d2 kinda have the same compiling and stuff, so its expected for a bunch of things to be weird lol

the outline is 512x512, should probably be 8x8 with point sample ticked to be safe. But it's still small enough no one would care.

You put $nocompress, $stripalphachannel, $clampt, and $clamps which I don't even know if are real parameters as i can't find anything about them, not sure what $nocompress would do anyway since you used compression on the textures. ClampT and ClampS are done in the VTF usually. idk why $nomip and $nolod are in the VMT since you already have those selected in the VTF.

I like the model so im gonna give unwanted feedback.

Your VTFs and VMTs are pretty weirdly setup.

DXT5 is for compression with an alpha channel, none of the textures use alpha so it should be DXT1 which is for compression without an alpha channel.

You also ticked no mipmaps in the VTFs which can look weird and isn't usually recommended.

The face is 2k which, is 5 megabytes of the 7 megabyte addon, which is still small compared to most addons but it probably can be 1k and no one would notice. (and also making it DXT1 would also push the size down)
