The compat for 4.1.7 is done, I'm just trying to track down something in the error log about pops and the recent changes to slavery in the vanilla update. It doesn't *seem* like its breaking anything but I don't want to take chances.

Your first mistake was thinking ChatGPT is going to give accurate information. I'm pretty sure the Stellaris wiki had an article on trade mechanics. We have done nothing special with it and it operates like it does in vanilla.

I've played for about a 100 hrs and I still can't figure out how the Trade system works? I'm consuming an insane amount of trade due to jobs, but all my planets/stations don't have very many available jobs and none of my planets are fully built out. I haven't found any good enough info on youtube or chatgpt. Please help

yeah this doesnt work? its the only mod in the playset, on the correct version, not in debug mode and none of the mods features appear in game, the normal generated AI empires are not replaced, all mod features are absent. What is the problem

can you make it so we can make our own empires, or at least customise some of them, since playing as some of the factions at the bottom, eg first order or the republic would be kinda cool

okok This is awesome! Definitely reinvigorated my drive to play! The new resources + ship components are a little overwhelming for a first start... anyone have recommendations for mods to compare different components or a comprehensive list of the new stuff with explanations?

oh, I was actually thinking if it was possible to wait or doing it in the correct way, since (I guess) after the new order proclamation the empire probably got rid of them right in the beginning (although I'm not sure); but in any case thank you again! I think I'll do it via commands

Unsub and resub to see if it fixes the file size. On my end, the workshop version is -906.89 MB. Its negative because the Paradox launcher is dumb and at a certain file size it overflows.

@Koffeekki:
if you want to cheat the event in, open the console and put in swnd_galactic_cw_leadup.7 while playing as the Empire. Off the top of my head I can't remember it Eriadu or Ciutric can do it.

You'll need to build them them for orbital or planetary shipyards. And you also need the Starship Structures technology which is an engineering tree option.

You can if you want. You should get an event eventually that will let you claim a total war-style casus belli against all the former Separatist-aligned companies.

We plan on expanding some narrative events surrounding it. The GCW itself is something we want to expand upon as well. If you want to expand on your ideas some, you can definitely write a suggestion on our Discord so it doesn't get lost in the comments here.

Are the plans to change the GCW in the short-term?

Though I like how the New Republic usually forms and manages to consolidate the systems around Coruscant, there's a lot of bordergore even before the Empire splinters, because of how every participant can seize ownership of the systems they occupy.

If you could review the way systems change hands during the GCW and whether every participant should be called into one huge war (rather than maybe a handful of parallel conflicts), it would be great :)

Because New Dawn uses more predesigned content, we actually have *better* performance planet-per-planet and ship-per-ship than vanilla! The issue arises quickly because we also have more advanced starting positions, so the economy heats up quicker and empires fill out their naval cap much earlier than in the base game. This is a tradeoff, but it also allows more notable wars to play out at earlier dates.

In the near(ish) future we plan to overhaul per-ship navalcap similar to the changes being proposed to vanilla - as performance for the base game ships improve ND should also benefit substantially.

Is this normal if i have 20-30 fps near 2270 date(and have an fps drops too)? i playing in huge map max graphic almost, with 42 species(pc: i5 14400F, 32 gb ram, rtx 4060, m2 ssd). I do all basic tips for stellaris.

There are a few mods that help with this actually. They force the AI to update their fleets periodical similar to how you do and favor larger more powerful ships over dozens and dozens of smaller ships. However, using it with this overhaul is not recommended.

I haven't tried it them either though so maybe they might work?

One possible solution to the slide show you can look into is find out what the command is to delete a fleet you have selected and simply go around and delete every AI fleet that is made up of small ships and they will hopefully build back their fleets with larger ships.

@plmsw121 There is an issue with vanilla since 4.0 where the number of ships on the map causes the game to turn into a slide show, a slow one at that. When this happens just depends on how quickly a certain number of ships on the map is reached.

I recommend playing on the Medium or Small map until they fix vanilla.

This is not a mod issue.

I'm having the issue that on the intended large galaxy the game grinds to a halt (1-2 seconds per day) around year 38 regardless of any options I change. Is there a fix to this I'm missing or have optimizations for the new pop model not been included? And if not is there a mod that would serve to fix the problem?
