Hmm,
Onion + cheese = French army winter ration
Meat/fat+Dandelions = Goulash (of a kind dont remeber origin of recipe)
Hay/grass/nettles + Dandelions = British Dandelion soup
I would suggest gruel, but peasant slush is practically that already.

Bone broth is a consistent across various cultures.

Famine Food? These were my lunch preps for like 3 years lmao
Willem 30. sep. kl. 11:32
Imagine not having a fully automated Nutrient Paste Network stocking 5000 meals worth at all times... good mod though, I'll keep this around to REALLY punish the Slaves if they go out of line.
Suspumpkin/bonejokeguy 30. sep. kl. 7:57

Homuya 29. sep. kl. 19:53
can I cook my coom into a meal with this? That way in winter my pawns can goon daily for an endless nutritional source!
GoofyGuy73 29. sep. kl. 15:56
can you add a recipe that uses rotten meat from the rotten meat mod?
CandiedSkull 29. sep. kl. 13:32
This is one of those mods I've need for soooo long. So many colonies where I've had an abundance of some form of hay, wood, or leather, but not enough to feed my humans after something wiped out our food stock.
pank1424 29. sep. kl. 11:17
Is this playble in 1.5? And if it isn't can you make it be? :)
Lyn the Cookie 29. sep. kl. 9:47
Great mod! Thank you for finally giving me something to feed my prisoners!
Mien 29. sep. kl. 8:29
Adding hardtack as a preporatory food for hunger would be nice (lasts long as shit, but also takes a long time to make. basically vegan pemmican.)
Xeonzs 29. sep. kl. 5:55
Great mod, I don't see myself using it, but I'd just like to say you did an awesome job.
negreaflorin687 29. sep. kl. 4:18
actually pretty useful for when i have to abandon my base and escape to some random isolated place
Liliana 29. sep. kl. 3:05
I'm reminded of that forestry youtuber who decided to find out not just how much Sawdust effects the taste and texture of bread, but which wood tasted best. (Cedar. It was Cedar. Five percent cedar dust to flour actually added a nice flavour to the bread, apparently.)
SPODAR 29. sep. kl. 0:38
Frostpunk players' favorite activity - feeding people wood.
Finally, some good fucking food.
Excel.exe 28. sep. kl. 16:59
Finally my pawns can understand what it's like to live in Birmingham
Sir Van  [ophavsmand] 28. sep. kl. 16:29
@GeekyRaptorStudios Lot of it is inspired by real world famine foods, altho the saw dust/wood dust idea came from frostpunk. As for adding in famine, you can already increase it through the difficulty settings by lowering yields and the such.

With simple XML editing you can also increase the chances of blight incidents, tho i don't think i'd ever add any custom incident through this mod.
GeekyRaptorStudios 28. sep. kl. 14:32
to all you hating on the sawdust in parmesian, it's kind of a mixed bag, on one it's cheaping out on the food manufacturer's part, on the other it makes an excellent anti-caking agent and preserves the shelf life a bit too. It's kind of a two sided thing, good and bad.
GeekyRaptorStudios 28. sep. kl. 14:30
This mod is genius! And even based relatively accurately on real world counterparts, it'd be kind of neat to make an ideology that uses these foods and a mod that adds famine to the rim. what a neat survival idea.

Suggestion, add bugs like pill bugs, crickets, locusts and grubs for famines not in the winter but due to a dust bowl or a locust swarm devastating crops! this idea is amazing!
=>PR<= HavenOnline 28. sep. kl. 11:59
...the powdered kind in plastic shakers rather
=>PR<= HavenOnline 28. sep. kl. 11:59
Indeed. There's still sawdust in Parmesan cheese to this day.
Eric_Kei 28. sep. kl. 11:35
@DreamFree Sawdust and wood pulp can also be found in foods such as granola, etc (at least, in the US). It will normally be disguised under another name, e.g., "cellulose fiber." Renaming such things in a mildly-deceptive way is fairly common here, unfortunately.
Liliana 28. sep. kl. 10:38
Ah, good ole famine food. Sometimes you just need Medieval nutrient paste because randy has spawned Yet Another Volcanic Winter
MarquisDeGeorges 28. sep. kl. 10:03
Yummy!
Aquila15 28. sep. kl. 4:27

DreamFree 27. sep. kl. 21:53
I did find this though... Damn as a Dutch person I feel like cheese shouldn't be messed with like this. I guess Americans don't mind/know??

It's about how they add wood pulp to packaged shredded cheese...

If you ever want to evolve this mod. I recommend checking this if you don't know it already.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famine_food

''Foods associated with famine need not be nutritionally deficient, or unsavory.''

and

https://www.survivopedia.com/10-ingenious-foods-people-ate-during-famines/

and

Couldn't find any information on wood dust eating, but there are some cultures where the inner parts of the bark are still a part of their daily/seasonal nutrition.
