Congrats on finishing it without hints, and thanks for your comment about the fixes. The map has changed a lot since the first version.
About the 5 materia: when you finish the map, you need to stay and place them on the shelf of the closed door that appears.
What type of problem did you have?
-Added a piano that allows changing the background music or muting it. List of included OSTs: FF6 - The Magic House, FF7 - Cait Sith's Theme, FF8 - Timber Owls, FF10 - The Trials, FF12 - Lowtown, FF15 - Galdin Quay.
-The Pictures puzzle has been updated: one picture is now placed from the beginning. The paintings that were previously inside the chests along with the crystals have been relocated, making the puzzle independent from the others (except for the Cactuars puzzle).
-Minor changes: some objects were removed, the Picture puzzle hints were updated, a sound cue was added to the Triple Triad board, a hanging hook animation was introduced. and more...
-New candle clue
-Modified card clue
-Small changes and fixes
About the candle, you’re not the only one haha, so I’m going to add a message at the beginning so people notice it
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘final key’ but when you solve that Card puzzle, you get a key to open one of the desk drawers. Inside each drawer there’s a notebook with the drawing of a piece and its value, which are needed to solve the Chess? puzzle. I’m not exactly sure how you managed to solve it without that information haha
-Changed the Chess? puzzle. It’s much easier now. Hints updated.
-Some objects related to the old Chess? puzzle have been removed.
-Changed the Card hint under the airship.
-Now, when you finish the Card puzzle, all the red cards turn green.
I get why the chess puzzle felt frustrating; a lot of people had the same issue and just ended up looking up the code. I wanted it to be more than just an easy puzzle, but I ended up making it too convoluted, with clues that could be interpreted in different ways. That was my mistake.
On the other hand, I think the card puzzle is easier to understand. Still, I changed the hint under the airship to make it clearer and more noticeable. Also, once you finish the puzzle, all the cards turn green. I would have liked to make it so that while placing the cards, the adjacent red ones would turn green as you go, but that was too complex to do without actual programming, so I had to drop the idea.
The card puzzle also did not make sense to me because I did not know how to play the in game card game, so the idea that the cards value adds up to a total as well as having to place them next to each other to flip the enemy cards to capture them also didn't make sense to me. I think this puzzle could be more intuitive by automatically flipping captured cards to more easily convey the idea of capturing cards, this way some clueless idiot like me could figure out how the game works without any major hints.
Difficulty changed from Easy to Medium, and playtime increased from 15 to 30 minutes.
Added more hints for the '4 - Frames,' '5 - Cards (Triple Triad),' and '7 - Chess?' puzzles.
Added references to Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and Final Fantasy VII characters Tifa and Aerith.
The key is on a table inside the same room, so the only way to get it is through the window, near where you found the candle or the yellow chocobo.
I’ll consider making a walkthrough video; for now, I’ll add a hint in the Frames section explaining how to get the door key, and I’ll also make it more noticeable.
Thanks for the feedback!
