The wizard hat that's in the game now is similar but better, it doesn't force a beard on you. They should be separate items. Personally I'd want the Demolition Mage hat that's on the workshop over this.

Guys, I think I'm tired of these wizard costumes

I'm tired of wizard hats, but that's a nice beard. Maybe make it an item itself?

Pretty cool that there's a style without the beard, but a 3rd style where it keeps both the hat and beard, but the beard is paintable, would be neat.
