A very good foundation for an automatic mod, especially for mining.
Just requires lots of fine tuning, especially on how it handles the logic to whereas it will not interrupt normal gameplay due to "stutters/lag". Alongside a few QoL changes.

Only used this mod briefly, it was worked as intended. But as mentioned earlier, the stutter/lag just ruins it for me. :scWitch:

if you fix these, this mod will easly become a massive QOL and a must have for any playthru

PS: i love the idea of this mod and look forward to seeing it and using it when its 100% working

i got the mod to work BUT
this leaves alot of minerals left behind and lags the **** out of the game during scan and is hyper aggressive with its order updates during mining.

problem details-
1: it will re-select a asteroid for mining thats already being mind deselecting minerals marked for collection in the process. This leaves piles of minerals behind.....
2: when it scans and relocates to another asteroid it scans mid flight and relocates again

potential solutions-
for 1 i suggest have it check if crew are absent from the ship and have it not update orders if so
that way it doesn't scan again and leave a field that its still collecting from.
this would also reduce the number of load spikes the mod has from having 10 - 200+ order updates per asteroid (depending on size and/or mining speed)

for 2 increase its wait time between order updates to reduce re-scanning when its already heading to another asteroid

@blackknight24 known bug, its actually not time-based, an issue with salvage command completion detection. Already on the fix-list.

The time between switching targets needs to be increased, my ships dont get the chance to load all the minerals before they're off to the next asteroid.

@Schira Thanks for the feedback, lookout for a new version soon and if you are still running into issues then it will have built-in support for extracting logs to share with me for bug-fixing.

Hab es getestet, aber irgend wie visirt er nur Asteroiden an fliegt ein wenig hin und visirt dann ein anderen an. Hab kleines Schif gemacht mit 16 Mann. Sollte nur Hyperion abbauen. Aber ausser einer Verwirten desorientirten KI gab es nichts Spektakuleres zu Sehen.
Ansonsten Coole Idee :) Hoffe auf Besserung

I tested it, but somehow it only targets asteroids. It flies there for a bit, then targets another one. I made a small ship with 16 crew members. It was only supposed to mine Hyperion. But other than a confused, disoriented AI, there was nothing spectacular to see.
Otherwise, cool idea :) Hope for improvement.

@jsdnewberry, probably in a few days to a week the next update should be out. I switched to an agentic swarm of AI agents that work together on solving problems so dev work is speeding up but had some growing pains to switch over to it.

@Funky Thanks for the bug report, look for the next version release to see if your issue continues after that. if it does by that time there will be an external mod page where you can submit bug logs to help me triage your issue.

@Classical Afro Posted version is the only version, however I can say that ongoing development is working to ensure all game interactions go through multiplayer compatible commands, so hopefully that is resolved during the next version release. Current rewrite is thousands of lines of code change.

As of now this mod doesn't work for me all the ship does is stops scans starts to move to an Asteroid then stops and goes to the next one then repeats with out mining anything.

If the keybind does nothing, it means you didn't follow the instructions to copy the dll file into your bin folder for the Enhanced Mod Loader dependency.

@SerLordKnightNepTheKingOfPudding I'm still working to stabilize the mod, improve performance issues, and squash bugs. So won't be able to investigate cross-mod compatibility issues but in general the mod tends to use the same commands a player would for mining so that part should be fine. Could be something odd about how that mod affects asteroid resources, once I get the source code repo up and logging instructions written you could submit the issue at that point and I can review once I've squashed the main mod bugs.

This could be Mod Conflict, but using the mineable asteroid mods from SirCampalot with this mod, freezes the game for 3 to 10 seconds, and the Miner doesn't fully mine the entire asteroids. it also leaves resources and doesn't bother collecting any of it.

And i only set the miner to collect Iron Ore.

@Cantusavem *Hurries. Added a ko-fi link to the listing. Currently doing some major internal code overhauls so I have to do a lot of testing before the next release. Once that refactor is done will also push up the source code to a github page.

@Funky I'm working on additional details there still but haven't finished setting that up yet, it requires not just instructions but also a place to upload logs and such. Should hopefully get to it by this weekend. The code is also undergoing large changes internally so something that is a bug now may not be later.

Hey all, I appreciate the interest and feedback! For those reporting issues, the reality is that bug reports have to have log files and clear details, asteroid cache information manually dumped into the logs, and a way for me to get all of that and review it. If you are reporting issues without this in the meantime it will likely be useless as an input for me to use in fixing issues you are experiencing. I'll add more details on how to properly report issues soon. As mentioned this mod is under active development and has only had 1 person testing it, so going from that to several hundred people is going to reveal many more edge cases.

in order to handle enemies all you have to do is let it warp to the nearest station and then disable the automine or something

did testing of my own. not a bad mod at all. it's buggy, but fixable. some suggestions that might help. as i'm not a coder (not a good one AT ALL) some of what i say may not work. first, please make it stop moving. on larger sample sizes it tends to freeze or bounce from node to node, leaving valuable resources. two, have it make a check in the code that the ship has gone back to idle. this will allow any ship size and shape to collect all resources from the node. you might have the bubble run a check, but that might be hard. you might also be able to use a built in feature. have the mining tab active and shift left click on an asteroid, you can continue to do this with all asteroids in visible range. this includes visibility range of other ships. it mines, then moves. no idea if you can incorporate that. fantastic start to a mod, hope to see it improved. legit been waiting for something like this. feel free to ping me. really hope see an update. thanks for reading. take care.

The mod makes the ship mine an asteroid for half a sec taking 1 rock, stops, move to another asteroid, start mining, then stop again, repeating this cycle but never actually mining. I'm only using this mod, so it's not other mods causing the issue. It seems broken, and we can't fix it without the source code?

It half works. Ship goes to a asteroid, starts mining it, then stops, moves to another asteroid, then starts, then stops, repeats. Is it because i have other mods activated?

All my ship does is scan and fly to the next one when it does start mining it stops mid and moves on to the next one

Did work for my setup like intended, but caused short game freezes when an active miner checked for new targets (about 1 sec long twice a minute)
. I got a ton of other mods including SirCamoalot´s Asteroid Series maybe its a conflict.
Only other EML mod i use is that aim leading one.
Back to manual mining and delivery for now.

Interesting wouldbe to set a few small mining ships to follow a mother ship and mine while following the mothership. Something like passive maining fleet :P You know... Mothership as defender while small ship just mine nearest asteroids

That known issue with the "don't show the mining area overlay". It works ONLY after the first load after a restart. If I load another save (or reload the same save), the mining area overlay will not show again.

I initially had the same problem. The mod you also have to install so that Mining Autopilot runs has special installation instructions. If you fill it, then also work with Ctrl Shift M.

Couldn't get the UI to pop up I tried Ctrl Shift M. Even tried finding maybe a menu but couldn't find one. If anyone could help please respond. I LOVE the concept of this mod.

@puddlejumper6999 Thx for the report, looks like the game expects a 'strings' folder but this modding framework doesn't need it. I updated a version that has an empty strings folder in the mod folder and issue resolved.
