So i tactical nuked my entire L4D2 setup(which i did earlier), did a full reboot of my PC(did not do), updated my drivers(did not do, but okay).... it works now. The fuck is this black magic? :Pentagram:

that mod isn't mine lol but that's besides the point

the thing is, like mentioned before, this is supposed to replace that sound entirely.
so you could either try replacing the sound yourself or removing the PainPills.Use sound event from the deploy sequence in the qc, if you're familiar with qc editing. the source files are in the vpk to facilitate that.

Is there a way to remove the gulp possibly on my own, or is that beyond just fiddling with some files?

You're all good. These kinds of problems happen with modding, can't predict or know everything. I ended up switching to your other pill mod: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3557206467

I really liked this one because i prefer NMRiH's more grounded animations. I also for some reason really enjoy the larger pill size from this one. LOL

not saying i don't believe you but everything seems fine for me and for a friend of mine that tested it just now

probably a custom folder that's mounted in your gameinfo.txt or something? that's the only thing that comes to mind rn

I disabled everything, had no conflicts, gave it the highest priority, reinstalled, verified files, etc... still the same ordeal. Looked at the VPK, the gulps ain't from there like you said. So i have no idea.

I tried 3 other pill mods, they don't have this issue. :steamfacepalm:

that's weird. this replaces that specific sound with a cap opening sound. i'm not sure how you're still hearing that

Why do i hear a gulp when the animation deployment ends? As soon as the cap is off you hear a swallow sound LOL
