this mod should give the nimitz f14b with aim54c but it doesnt work in your mission. I would think this is a mission issue and not a mod issue since it works in other user missions with the nimitz. maybe updating the mission with a newly placed carrier group does the trick?

Thanks Kirbi I understand yes is the compatibility check indeed, its 0.4 atm in the ini but since they changed to 0.5 is giving the warning but it should be totally safe. Thanks for clarifying.

@Pax They're talking about compatibility since the recent 0.5.0 update as explained here, which needs to be declared in the info.ini. But they could also click ignore as it isn't actually incompatible.

Why the Nimitz get F-14A instead of F-14B? Their AIM-54A usually can't do ♥♥♥♥.

Also a comment I'd like to add for anyone else... If you dont have the air deck operations upgrade mod, I would highly recommend it. I'm not sure if the scenario was designed around that but I personally find the nimitz completely unplayable with its vanilla launch/landing rates.

But thats a game issue, not an issue with the scenario.

@Pax I was able to sit down last night and give the new update a go. The beginning part felt much more doable and I was able to successfully defend doha (it still took just about every single a2a plane it had, which is good imo).

after that, it was constant hell of wave after wave targeting the carrier group (which I believe is the intention), which felt much more fun! that is until I got messy with my jets and friendly-fired an s-3a and i rage quit :( lol

I haven't finished the scenario yet but the changes to the start felt very good to me! Thank you!

So, here is feedback. Overall idea is good, but:
1. You're saying there is a huge OP going on and airbase has 0 patrols in the air? Id not scuff at that, but scrambling jets and setting patrols everything up both on CSG AND the base is a micro hell. Exectly why IRL there are CAP and CAS missions constantly in the air.
2.Iranian jets start too close, point blank even. Same for ships. With air patrols there is no way ANYTHING gets this close to CSG. Base, VERY maybe, but with a patrol anything flying even low and fast is spotted by patrols ldsd radar.
3. Overall CSG spawning too close to the silkworms and SAM site. Kinda stepping over myself but i had only time to raise the standby intercepttor groups, not even AEW or CAP.

Updated. Players should now have more agency to deal with the initial wave of phantoms attacks. Stretched a bit the start and made it easier, important thing is that you can still lose your USS Texas if you slack on intercepting the wave. First strikes should now happen after the 5' minute mark. As always feedback is much appreciated.

ill try heli's and see how that goes. I typically avoid those entirely except for ASW. One idea had (and I have no idea how the ai in this game works) is that the texas starts with is radar on. is it possible the enemy planes are seeing that and focusing it?

I don't know man the plane thing never happened to me... This game is still in early development and lots of patches are breaking old stuff. Just today it became impossible to open up modded scenarios that use AnchorChain in the editor... Anyways ,I will move F4s further and USS Texas closer to the beach so it can have more AA assistance. I had the F4s starting there so they could actually focus on the base instead of just switching to engage the CV or worse the TEXAS, but if thats not happening I will find a way around. At mission start use EA6B from doha with ECM directed at planes worked for me but then after shooting multiple waves down with some minor damage to Texas.The CV was not able to start a single plane maybe a mod issue :)

missiles should not present a real problem since they are SEAD and only take out radars but since you are the second person mentioning this maybe I really have to balance the first wave of iranian phantoms especially the ones carrying dumb bombs. The very strange thing is that for almost the entirety of my testing phase they just switched to target the Convoy on the west (Nimitz) completely ignoring the Texas or the base. BTW I'll deal with it. In the meantime maybe try to get cobras in the air as your fist move. From the base pick AH1s with AA they should provide at least some more cover. Imma cook a fix soon.

im not sure if im just bad at this or im doing things wrong. I cannot for the life of me prevent the texas from getting taken out almost immediately. there's not enough time to get enough jets in the air from doha to counter the incoming planes at the beginning, and the harriers you get are pretty useless anyway. the texas doesn't seem to have enough firepower by itself to take out the incoming missiles, and the nimitz is obviously too far away to be helpful that early on. any hints or suggestions?

Really cool mission! Nice work! I would give the airbase in Doha some CAP at the beginning of the mission due to how quickly the enemy fighters spawn.

It's still not playable for me and I've tried vanilla and uninstalling the mod and reinstalling it. I wish I could play it. It's giving me 'object.null' messages and won't load the mission. Anyone know any fixes?

This is undoubtedly one of the best scenarios I've downloaded. I enjoyed it a lot. I played it normally first, then I modded it myself and had a lot of fun. Keep doing missions like this in vanilla, brother, you're great.

@Harbinger yes correct, the option that you choose makes the others disappear, warning message refers to this in the lines of "We only have resources to call in one additional help" or something on the line of that, while about the time must be a typo there, will note that in the todos for the next update. Thanks for the feedback.
@IceWalloh. Since there is no mod used here you could try to disable them all and make this top priority ? Or just move this to the top. Will see if others report this issue... Does the error mention something about the briefing ?

Another outstanding mission, cant say enough how much I enjoy your scenarios. One suggestion I might add is a time or objective delayed third airstrike wave as an incentive to keep your CAP up and make the players second strike wave a bit less trivial. Fantastic mission though.

I'm getting some 'object.null' issue when I try to load into the mission. Anyone else? I think it's probably a mod I have but other missions are working just fine.

Really great, action packed scenario! Couple things I've noticed is: 1)Does calling in units supposed to be choosing only one out of 3? I was able to brought in E-3, but other options didn't triggered (with their map zone disappear as well). 2)Weather warning message uses Local time, but it seems like it fits Zulu time instead.

I was also shooting "first" but they where a 4 ship formation of unindentified targets racing towards my texas at low alt, so I thought it was right after the 3rd failed answer to my calling them over radio to engange lol

Thanks for your feedback ! I noticed that they randomly either target the base or the Nimitz but didn happen for me that they targeted the Texas at the start. Good to know I might rebalance that a bit and make them spawn a bit further then

Started playing it, for now I think it be a bit unfair to have directly right after mission start have f4's bomb your Texas that you need to call in support, and then also have them spawn that close that they can sling the bombs so fast and far at the Texas... :D But otherwise really awesome high quality
