@mason531, i think they changed how landed_titles work for some reason, did some adjustments and should be working now.
That said, the concept isn’t necessarily off the table entirely. If we decide to explore late-antique syncretic survivals or mystery traditions in a future update, sol invictus could potentially appear as a deity within a Mithraic-inspired mystery cult. It’s an interesting direction, but just not something we can prioritize right now.
Unfortunately for the forseeable future, no.
Do you have any intentions of making a patch of Ethnicities & Portraits Expanded? I'd love to make more use out of this mod, but can't stand the vanilla character designs/appearances.
As for the Numeroi and Excubitors you mentioned: Paradox actually uses “Hetaireia” as the knight name for the Byzantine culture. The Hetaireia was a kind of bodyguard unit, and for the Eastern Roman cultured characters I used Excubitors for the same reason, they were also an imperial guard-type force.
But if you’re asking whether I plan to add new men-at-arms or any additional features for the vanilla Byzantine (Greek) culture, then no.
I don’t have any plans or intentions to change anything or add anything related to the vanilla Greek culture.

Another idea: add a simple system where anyone—courtiers, governors, or rich families—can launch usurpation CB against the Byzantine/Roman Emperor. This would reflect the true nature of the imperial throne, open to anyone strong enough to seize it. Supporters of the emperor or the weak wouldn’t attempt it, but it would simulate the frequent revolts and failed usurpers that shaped Roman history, while adding challenge and story to playthroughs—new dynasties rising, others crushed.
Feel free to add me if you’d like to discuss further—I’d love to help!
smth like: restoring the western empire's dioceses or exarchies ( next update ;) ) will make it possible to "revive" the "western roman" culture. and after that conquering and restoring specific regions of the empire will grant you the possibility of branching the "western roman" culture into various sub-cultures, like you said > "gallo-roman" or "mauro-roman" etc etc..
