@The Brock No, the [VScripts] Library of Utils isn't a virus and doesn't break the game. It hasn't been touched, altered, or updated since 2022, and the first time it's been accused of giving your computer a virus is 2024. That's an insanely long dormant time with zero proof of that being the offender. It's a required item for most of my vscripts cuz its code allows me to implement some functions for my custom SI like powers as illusions, become visible by flashlight, ai, etc. So without it. Slenderman simply won't work and it's been like that since I created him.

Forcing people to download Library of Utilities or whatever it's called and having reports of it breaking the game is not cool

@Natsenko. indeed, he was really too op and annoying with that 50/50 spawn rate and he even made me get stuck during finales so I had to balance things out lol

Oop sorry for late reply I repaired it. For some reason a I think another vscipt mod messed with the model and just showed an error instead of the slenderman model, I had to unsub and resub and still showed an error till I removed a previous vscipt mod that caused it.

Oddly enough, it might be my imagination, but it feels like increasing the number for poison damage actually lowers it

@Zahkrosis The Slenderman from The Arrival and 8 Pages is practically immortal, so what's the point of adding an immortal being to the game? Insta-killing by touch is too OP, even though canon Slenderman can do that. So I settled on him insta-killing you while he takes you when you're incapacitated to be more fair.

Not to be picky but, there's that one Slenderman game who can be killed for good by a Shotgun... and melee is inefficientt since him touching you is instant kill. ^^'

@Zahkrosis His illusions are meant to deceive so he can make you hit the air cuz they're intangible, and the real Slenderman dies to melee weapons

@Akaito Shion the cloud_poison_damage setting is simply a switch, it enables (1) or disables (0) the fixed 1 damage per tick, jumpscares, and horde alerts altogether, so it's not a chance percentage or the actual damage amount.

Does cloud_poison_damage work the same as spawn chance, where it's a chance to do damage or is it the actual damage number?

@Bonnie O.B strange, are you using the Y button for these commands by any chance, you just press it type a command like !slenderbulletproof 1 and then enter and it will send a message that the command has been applied

Disabling it to 0 disables the jumpscare and horde alert since the jumpscare happens when you take damage from the cloud, right?

@M̶a̶d̷ ̷A̵n̴d̸r̵o̴i̸d it's the same meaning, those chat commands affect the variable settings.slenderman_jumpscare_mode that you can find in the settings.cfg file so a value of 1 is jumpscare with a 30s cooldown while the value 0 is one jumpscare per slenderman

Could really use less health (and please don't make it a toggle), spawning hordes and disorienting survivors are already a fair amount of work done. I think bullet immunity is fine if it died in one melee swing. As it stands I'd rather not have the mod around if all it does is be annoying and would tediously require someone to type out specific commands in the chat just to alleviate the problems.

@Hoody Slenderman needs this required addon to properly work https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2821408044 thx for letting me know, I forgot to put it as a required addon, ofc you can still play without it, but keep in mind that the illusions and AI will get buggy, not to mention that the flashlight won't longer work on slenderman, and that's why I recommend subscribing to [VScripts] Library of Utils. And if not, you can still disable the illusions in left4dead2/ems/slenderman/settings.cfg by setting slenderman_illusion_chance from 33 to 0.

UPDATE: Slenderman has a 50% chance of spawning in place of the Smoker and will respawn in 3 minutes after being defeated, though this time can be customized in the settings.cfg file. Players can use chat commands to modify his behavior: !slenderbulletproof [0/1] toggles his immunity to bullets, and !slenderjumpscaremode [0/1] controls how often his jumpscare is triggered: either every 30 seconds if slenderman attacks you or just once per encounter. He can also take incapped survivors if they're near him so be extremely careful.

@Skerrox well, I didn’t originally plan to make him bulletproof, it was more of a temporary fix for the issue where Slenderman wouldn’t spawn with full health and would die instantly when shot upon spawning. So that ended up making Slenderman only vulnerable to melee attacks and kinda immortal...

@King Of The Family 1. yh sure but you'll have to reduce the health afterwards in left4dead2/ems/slenderman/settings.cfg since the update doesn't affect that file and slenderman can be pretty tanky even with less than 1000HP

2. I can try since I'm focusing on fixing things related to the jumpscare rn like in the versus mode that I noticed that I was getting jumpscared as an infected a while ago, and when any survivor is near slenderman everyone gets jumpscared so I'm trying to fix that too, but for now the jumpscare cooldown is in 30s (yh I increased it from 15s last update)

neat update, although i could prefer dmg reduction instead of bullet immunity much like how charger got one for example, it would be annoying since i use pistols instead of melee trying to find one and switch would be frustrating especially during horde event, but at least i can swap my pistol with my bot teammate who has melee, neat feature nonetheless

2 things:
1. can you make a setting where slenderman can die from bullets in the config?
2. can you make it where the jumpscare happens only 1 time on the screen but everything else is the same?

@Noodlepikmin about the health, it still doesn't matter much cuz slenderman is invulnerable to bullets and fire to begin with, so one way to kill him is with melee attacks (he can get one shot) and you can change his spawn chance in left4dead2/ems/slenderman/settings.cfg so if you set the slenderman_chance to 2, he will have a 50% probability of appearing whenever a Smoker bot spawns, meaning he will replace half of all potencial Smoker spawns in the game and setting the value to 1 will result in a 100% probability so you can change this value to 3, 4 or 5 so he doesn't bombard you and I'm considering adding a restriction that just 1 slenderman can be present at the same time but for now I'm focusing on fixing the problem with the static and some other things that also affect the versus mode in a bad way

@Noodlepikmin Making slenderman based on the tank was out of the question cuz tank's theme and growls drowns out slenderman's and doesn't fit him at all, so make slenderman based on the smoker would actually make sense since he has the tongue grab ability which I used for slenderman's tentacle grab and making him replaced the tank would require adding compatibility for the other tank's vscripts and that'd add more lines of code than needed and smoker didn't have any vscript based on him so it was like the perfect choice.
