Hi, really loved that mod back in the days, thank you for bringing it back. I couldn't run it unfortunately, cause it crashes the game for me. No other mods were installed and I tried installing it via steam and manually too. Is there any way to fix it? Thanks...

Yes, its functionally the same mod, just updated here on Steam for the various additions and fixes we made in the last 5 years. So any language should still be fine!

That is beyond the scope of my work here, but even so, its a tough task. Religions are usually grouped and set in stone to be organized or "pagan", based on their religion groups. You could make a different form of these organized religions as more "pagan" unorganized etc, but it would involve making events to switch them too it and adding religions in game to represent these. As well as events to manage when this happens and how to handle characters, provinces, etc moving to it.

I think it should be possible for organized religions like Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism and Buddhism to devolve into unreformed pagan religions if they either loose too much provinces or many bad things happen to them.

I don't plan on map work, unless I find a mapper. It takes a lot of work and detail to do that. It would be nice, yes, but not something I can handle.

Are there plans to update the map to the last update of CK2, basically adding all the provinces that were added post-2016, and making the map how it was in 2021 CK2 (WTWSMS provinces included)?

Check the game out before you play a while. A lot of the old wtwsms submods no longer work well, since this includes map updating.

I've got a few start date suggestions, may be a lot of work but they could drastically change the mod.

2. 395 AD
3. 532 (Ngl this would be great, especially if you could make it so Belisarius is playable.)

Try reinstalling the mod or try the manual download linked in the mod description.

Also, try verifying your game files for ck2 in Steam. If those don't help, perhaps you need to reinstall ck2 in whole. I know its tedious, but you should be able to play every character for the most part even with no dlcs.

So good to see someone giving this some life after all these years, still such a great mod!, one really neat addition could be implementing the WTWSMS Banners submod that adds some more accurate arms to counties/dynasties etc., again its so good to see this mod getting some love!

Map expansion I won't do, I am not good at it and it really needs a proper map modder.

Religion wise, I can make those changes but that does take a lot of work. Maybe a goal for 2026, but the African religions and region are not a big focus of the mod. Each pagan religion getting their own DW society could happen eventually too, but I don't see myself rushing to do that quickly. Appreciate the feedback though, as always.

@ChipopHQ You're more than welcome to make your own submod that expands religions and societies, but it'd be a bit unreasonable to ask a guy who is just maintaining a mod that's been left idle for a time to add additional content.

By the way, the Baltic and Finnic religions should have their own demon worshipper cults instead of sharing the Slavic one. Also I think the other added pagan religions that don't have demon cults should have their own cults as well.

In HF_Baptism_Decisions, under give_child_special_baptism, the allow section has as the second AND condition:
religion_head = {
is_alive = yes
NOT = { block_general_event_trigger = yes }
OR = {
has_landed_title = k_papal_state
has_landed_title = k_orthodox

Under these titles plug in any and all valid religious head titles like d_papal_state or d_arian etc etc. As far as the issue itself I think it has to do with the nested nature of the targeted decision, as the logic works for the event when it's not encapsulated in a FROM argument, so I think it theoretically could be entirely reworked as a regular decision. That'd require more legwork though, as there are circumstances in which it would have more than one valid target, like if you had two kids under the age of 2, but that's something the devs should've done themselves frankly.

Far as I can tell this one is properly borked and there's no saving it, the game sees you're looking for theocratic count or above vassals, finds them, but cannot see that they're your religion, and it seems impossible for the engine to see them dynamically as intended. It seems they left the code in, probably knowing it doesn't actually work, with the only section working being religious heads k_orthodox and k_papal_state. I got it to work by decision by adding d_papal_state etc etc to the list, but the real kicker is the event that fires for your first born uses near identical logic and without a religious head triggers just fine in at least one case. This is well beyond my paygrade and probably needs a veteran modder or proper gamedev to sort out, but for the Christian faiths with religious heads the problem is more or less rectified.
