Did you think about integration with Dubs Hygiene? Specifically, bringing the heat to the radiators added by Dubs?

Would love a version that does both, either a bit of both or all of both. A central source of heat and power for the colony.

Can it only be heated indoors? If placed outdoors, can it increase the temperature within the range? I previously used a module that enabled the campfire and geothermal fountain of vanilla to have a forced heating effect within the range (regardless of whether it was indoors or not)

@The God I've noticed this too, but I'm not sure exactly what the issue is. The code in the mod doesn't seem to be messed up or anything, but it does definitely have a lag spike like that. Maybe it's to do with drawing such a large sprite.

@MrPixel101_ I actually did consider having a thermal vent requirement but the original mod didn't include it so I didn't add it. If I can work out how to add mod options, I'll see if I can make that a toggle.

you should have a option to require it to be built on a thermal vent. similar to the actual games. and I know this is a hard ask but it would be cool it you could build it in stages like the game and have to build it up slowly over time.

It works but it lags a lot if I have both the chemfuel pipe mod and the dubs bad hygiene. Like anytime I place a water pipe or place the generator itself it just triggers a huge lag spike for good few seconds.

I kinda wish there was a version of these that acted as a generator instead of a heater, (I know that doesn't exactly work with the steampunk-y vibes, but it would be nice mechanically) kind of like a geothermal generator but free to place where ever.

yep, that would be awesome. I see it as: the ice world without absolutely anybody, then temperature changes. maybe a pre-requisite like «Celsius». maybe, just maybe, some time-based events that add new challanges and new colonists in your game. some quests outside of your base map that would allow getting more people. well, it may be pretty complex, if done precicely. but also, if you managed to survive the critical point, the regular RimWorld could have started. to think adventureously: generating new warm world with factions, re-enabling all the previously disabled events etc, so you could continue your game.

@тетеря, блин I am thinking of making one, it would be pretty fun to make a The Last Autumn style scenario where an Ice Age from Events+ slowly freezes the world and you need to rush to build a generator before the map freezes.

It will add boiler capabilities and lower the heat output for closed rooms, but the proxy heat is currently unchanged. If I knew how, I would give it a toggle to switch between boiler mode, room heater mode, and proxy heat mode.

how do the mod compats interact with each other? e.g. if you have both DCH/DBH and VTE/Terraforming, will it both add boiler capabilities and reduce the amount of proximity heat given off?

It seems the issue was a conflict between <consumeFuelOnlyWhenUsed> and the <CompProperities.Flickable> tags, all of which were in the original mod too. Maybe it only became an issue in 1.6.

I've been experimenting with balance, with this new update Generators are more expensive but produce a lot more heat, and the fuel burn rate and work to build statistics have been fixed.

@TheNamelessOne as Zero said, Vanilla Temperature Expanded and Cybranian - Terraforming Asteroids both include proxy heat implementations that make it work just like the game. Without them, you need it to be enclosed, since that's how the vanilla game heat system works.

sounds like a cool mod, however if i didnt read this wrong it NEEDS a enclosed space? if so, is their a way to make it heat a area around it in a open space like they do in frostpunk, it would make building a base up north a option i would love to try out. Cheers

You're welcome Laguz! I wonder why they took it down to be honest. Thankfully a sketchy Russian website hosted a copy of the original so I could update it. I only found out about this mod the other day but it was good timing since my current colony is basically going through the plot of Frostpunk right now. (The sun died from Events+ and now it's -140 outside with Ice Storms taking things even lower)
