can confirm ur fix did work, so now neat crafting and building works w/ addon xp. I'd like to mention there is a 42.12 fix for rocco's cleanui. It also works for clean hotbar. I throw no errors and everything pretty good for now and I have less than 150 mods and most of those being K15 car mods. I try not to have too many mods that do similar things. It's this or that mod. Def helps with compatibility issues.

@At The Night Show, the recommended load order is:
Neat UI (framework) → [B42] Neat Crafting V1.5 → Neat Crafting – Addon XP Display

Please keep Neat Building and Neat Building – Addon XP Display disabled unless you follow the steps in the thread “Temporary fix for PZ 42.12.0 (lets you use Neat Building + the Addon)”. Without those edits, Neat Building can still cause forced quits on 42.12.0. If you apply that fix, you can enable Neat Building + the Addon afterward.

so enabling your mod on top is sorta a temporary fix? I'm starting a new b42 game and hopefully didn't wanna have any forced quit issues.

Thanks, Lurmey! I’ve posted a short step-by-step temporary fix on the Neat Building Workshop page (discussion thread: “Temporary fix for PZ 42.12.0”). It lets you use Neat Building + this Addon on 42.12.0. The post includes a 2-line PowerShell option and the exact files to edit manually.

Please check that thread on the Neat Building page (load order: Neat UI → [B42] Neat Crafting V1.5 → Neat Building → Neat Building – Addon XP Display). Note that Workshop updates may overwrite the changes, so you might need to re-apply. Thanks again for the help!

BTW Afyrmo there is a very easy way to fix Neat Building for each user - I posted a discussion thread on that mod's page with instructions. For those of us able to do this I would very much appreciate to be able to use this mod with it, provided there is no other issue preventing this?

Quick clarification for everyone on PZ 42.12.0:
The freeze on load (forced quit to desktop) is caused by the Neat Building base mod.
• Please keep Neat Building and Neat Building – Addon XP Display disabled for now .

You can still use:
Neat UI (framework) → [B42] Neat Crafting V1.5Neat Crafting – Addon XP Display
With this mod load order my saves load normally.

Rocco (author of the base Neat Building mod) is aware — “B42.12 updated, and half of my mods is not working for now, it will take some time to fix it.”
A fix may take a bit — thanks for your patience and for the reports!

@Oko, en Project Zomboid 42.12.0, "Neat Crafting" parece estar funcionando bien con "Neat Crafting - Addon XP Display".

Sin embargo, Neat Building provoca errores en la carga de las partidas, obligando al cierre forzado de PZ, por tanto, tampoco puede habilitarse el addon para él (Neat Building - Addon XP Display). Thanks for the reports and for using the mod! On Project Zomboid 42.12.0 I’m also seeing forced quits when Neat Building is enabled. As a workaround: load Neat UI first (framework), then enable [B42] Neat Crafting V1.5 and Neat Crafting – Addon XP Display only. Keep Neat Building and Neat Building – Addon XP Display disabled. With that load order my saves load fine.

This looks temporary: Rocco (author of the base Neat Building mod) said, “B42.12 updated, and half of my mods is not working for now, it will take some time to fix it,” so he’s aware and a fix may take a bit.

me too but today I tried loading my save and was being forced to quit to desktop. After some trial and error with disabling certain mods I eventually got the game to load after disabling this one. Just wanted to let you know because I love this mod

First of all thank you for this mod I really love using it, but I had to disable this mod this morning. @3MeNyC, are you playing on Build 42? This mod is designed to work with Build 42 and is not compatible with Build 41. Do "Neat Crafting" and "Neat Building" show up in your in game mod list? The two addons of this mod should appear as "Neat Crafting - Addon XP Display" and "Neat Building - Addon XP Display" in the in game mod list.

@Birget, I've uploaded a new version of the mod that includes options to show or hide the XP information. You can now choose from 4 different display formats for the recipe XP, giving you full control over what is shown in the UI.

I've also added new images to the mod description page that show examples of these new formats. I hope you like them.

By the way, I'm a big fan of your work! Your animation and character model mods are fantastic, and you've made some really impressive contributions to the Project Zomboid workshop.

Hi! Is it possible to make xp appear not as written in recipe code but count as player will get in the end accordingly to perks and skill level? For example base xp in recipe is 5, but player has 0 level in current skill player will gain only 25% of it - 1,25.

@Phil, I've looked the code of recipes from the mods "DJG's Bound Materials" (Organize mod category) and "Extended Spices" (vanilla Cooking category) and neither of them give experience. Most of the recipes in KI5's "that DAMN Library" (categories like Armoring, Mechanics, or Recycling) do award experience and appear correctly in the Neat Crafting Menu when their XP Display Addon is enabled.

Oh, the mod list is so long, there are so many recipes (which I'm not sure where they are from) without the XP text.
But I will give some examples that I figured out from where they are:
- DJG's Bound Materials
- Extended Spices
- KI5 mods

So, I'm not sure how recipes works, if all of them give any XP of any kind or some don't give anything.
I thought that all of them had some kind of XP

Those are recipes added by other mods.
It could be the scripts or lua of this mod doesn't currently support that.

This is a very good mod, thank you!
I'm not sure why, but I think some recipes don't show XP, I didn't test properly yet but other mods recipes shows without XP while some show with it.

Does it support other mods? The load order is correct for both of them

@Taylor588, at the bottom-right corner of the main menu it should show the version you are playing. In order to change to Build 42, you can follow the steps here: https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/72761-build-42-unstable-released/

@TaylorS88, To make sure the mod updates correctly on your PC, try the following steps:
- Close Project Zomboid completely.
- In Steam, unsubscribe from the mod.
- Wait a few seconds — with your Library open, you can see in the bottom bar when the mod is fully removed.
- Once it's removed, subscribe again to re-download the updated version.
- Wait a few seconds — with your Library open, you can see in the bottom bar when the mod is fully installed.
- Launch Project Zomboid and check if the issue is resolved.

@CHAOS, I'm sorry to hear that the mod isn't working for you. The most common cause for this issue is the mod load order. Even though you mentioned yours is correct, please double-check to ensure it follows this specific hierarchy for each addon to function properly:
* NeatUI_Framework
* Neat Crafting
* Neat Crafting - Addon XP Display

and
* NeatUI_Framework
* Neat Crafting
* Neat Building
* Neat Building - Addon XP Display

Another potential cause could be an incompatibility with other mods that alter the crafting UI. This mod is known to be incompatible with mods like "What can I craft?" or "What can I craft Addon?".

If you have confirmed that your load order is correct and you have no conflicting mods, please let me know what kind of issues you find with these addons.

doesnt seem to work for me, only mods I have are the neat building and crafting with the ui framework and the load order is correct too. :(

@흉내쟁이 The idea to distinguish modded recipes with an or the mod's name is an excellent suggestion. I'll look into how to implement that feature.

Your second suggestion about hiding the XP amount until a recipe has been crafted once is also very interesting. It may be clever way to balance providing information with a sense of discovery. I'll have to investigate if this is technically feasible, but I like the concept.

@moX. There has a minor error about names. I've uploaded a new version 1.1 to solve that. Make sure your mod load order is correct: NeatUI_Framework > Neat Crafting > Neat Crafting - Addon XP Display. Thank you for the feedback.

Doesn't work for some reason.I'm using only neat crafting atm. Your addon was at the very bottom of load order, moved it directly below Neat Crafting, disabled the old crafting xp addon, still doesn't work and gives an error on loading the save.

Is it possible to distinguish between modded and vanilla crafting recipes? It would be great to have an option to display a simple icon or the name of the mod. Also, while the experience gain amount could be hidden at first, it would be ideal if it became visible after crafting the item at least once.
