Does anyone else get the same metal when discovered by a mine? I got all silvers in a single game, wondering if it is a bug.
Prolemasses 21. mar. 2021 kl. 20:34
The mod does not download anymore and the direct download doesn't work.
Lil Gilby Bert 15. dec. 2020 kl. 12:16
You did not have to make the war music slap as hard as it does
Old Guy 20. maj 2020 kl. 8:28
It would be great if this was compatible with the Giant Europe map in YNAEMP for both v24 &v25.
Remorsless 19. dec. 2017 kl. 19:22
worked a few times then built 8 mines in a row and got nothing
Kaelsang 3. dec. 2017 kl. 8:20
Did you make the music that plays while playing the Gauls or it comes from another compositor?

This is a great mod! I love the special unit, the building, and the mod in general. However, there is one thing that is a little too much. The civ's speciality of finding metal based luxury resorces in mines is a bit too OP. I ended up with 8 gold mines in two cities and the game just became too unbalanced. I am not criticizing, but asking if you, MC, that made the mod can change that and make the mod perfect.
Norton 30. sep. 2016 kl. 13:57
@TheSun T'would be better to leave the Gauls as a whole as one.
justinsane11 30. sep. 2016 kl. 5:26
god, get over it
SunnyTzu 22. aug. 2016 kl. 11:04
I'm an extensive history buff for all things Gaul, I love the mod but there are a few things lacking. A few of the city names are inappropriate, and there are many more possibilities for unique units. The 'Oathsworn' would be more appropriate as Galatis for instance. If you've ever thought about updating this mod or making more mods for different tribes or Gaulish provinces like the Roman Britian mod, send me a friend request!

The Gauls' TSL is in southern France, correct?
Suralin 31. maj 2016 kl. 21:33
This is a great civ, I must say. Definitely high-tier due to the free metals, particularly when picking Idols or Earth Mother as the pantheon, and very fun to play on all sorts of map types. :)

My only quibble is that there ought to be an alternate version of the LUA that randomizes the metal that spawns (and also reduces the spawn chance slightly, for balance purposes). It's been gold each time with the "most common on the globe" function.
ChevdeMetz 9. apr. 2016 kl. 9:17
i subscribed to it but i dont see it in my mods
Hu Flung Dung 1. mar. 2016 kl. 15:18
Any city which gains a resource from the UA then registers all mines in that city as producing 2 hammers, the other yeilds ie gold, culture work correctly. Not sure when it started but I noticed after I installed Citystate diplomacy mod. Any have this problem or know of a possible solution?
I noticed in the LUA log these two lines:
LoadScreen: IconHookup error - icon index: 1 icon size: 128 atlas: MC_GAUL_ATLAS image control: nil
&
PlotIterators.lua:151: attempt to index local 'pPlot' (a nil value)
gkstew 11. feb. 2016 kl. 7:07
Encountered a bug where a gold resource near my capital does not register as a luxury resource that is tradable or counted toward happines. It does show on the map though.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for changing the preferred religion of this civ to Druidism from "Calypso's Colored Religious Icons (Extended)"?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
mustachewarfare 17. jan. 2016 kl. 13:00
does anybody know the % of chance that luxury mine resource will trigger? I built 5~6 mine so far and only 1 luxury mine popped out
Alchemyst 10. jan. 2016 kl. 18:03
The song that plays in the beginning..does anyone know who plays that..the artist at least?..lol.
Volt-87 6. jan. 2016 kl. 3:19
Great mod :) however I found a bug or at least its kinda gamey. If you build a mine that dosnt give you the metal resource you can then change the improvement to something else such as a farm, then re make it into a mine afterwards and it will have a chance to re-trigger the metal resource spawn. Meaning you could fill all hills with resources.

Secondly, can I suggest a balance perhaps a limit per city. eg: maybe max 2-3 resources found per city. And I know its not a bug but can the resource it spawns be determined by the city its in, decided when first founded. So I could have a city that finds only gold in its borders, copper, etc. This prevents to many of one resource, and might better balance the game when you have the appropriate faith and Metalsmith.

lastly, you said "only the most abundant metal is ever created". Does that mean you would never get Iron or Aluminium as they are rare compared to the others?

thanks again, as I said great mod :D looking forward to the feedback!

Shaokere 28. sep. 2015 kl. 19:16
@Sukritact: Oooooh. I thought "the most abundant metal" was just a smarmy way of saying "Gold." That makes a lot more sense.
sukritact  [ophavsmand] 27. sep. 2015 kl. 21:01
@Jameswaag: No, since it changes from map to map.
Shaokere 27. sep. 2015 kl. 9:53
The UA should probably say "Gold" rather than "metal-based luxury resources," then. It's a bit misleading.
sukritact  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2015 kl. 23:19
@Jameswaag: That's intentional, only the most abundant metal is ever created.
Shaokere 26. sep. 2015 kl. 21:43
There seems to be a problem with the UA -- Master Metalworkers creates gold and nothing else . I've been playing a Highlands Map, and I have eighteen sources of gold, all created by Master Metalworkers, and absolutely zero silver or copper.

@أنا المرض No, Gallic is different from Gaelic. Gaelic is a scottish language while Gallic a way to say, that belongs to the gauls, it is gallic.
Outlaw1607 9. aug. 2015 kl. 3:54
@أنا المرض gaellic is a second language for north scotland
mustachewarfare 6. aug. 2015 kl. 1:31
Is it intended for Gallic civ to receive one consistent resource?

Would be really neat if we could get 2nd mine improvement (like Inca gets terrace farm in addition to existing improvement) that would unlock 2nd random resource (probably strategic since another different kind of luxury resource will make Gallic to city spam very easily)

Could make 2nd mine improvement unlock at later stage at like renaissance or something.

Nice mod, thx!
Caeric 25. mar. 2015 kl. 17:23
Seem to be stuck getting silver whenever Master Metalworkers triggers on my playthroughs. Originally thought it was a bug and only silver was available, although upon reading comments it seems the metal you gain for the entire game is determined the first time it triggers.

Is it at all possible to solve this and make it truly random? I'm loving the faction but after spending three games trying to find out if other metals could trigger and getting the same(silver) every single time it is slightly frustrating.. (especially since I tend to start surrounded by silver mines.)
Kaboom 22. mar. 2015 kl. 23:36
Tribe oathsowrn looks a lot like the Celts beserker. But with Master Metalworkers and the bonus combat when a Oathsowrn is killed is awesome! Can rampage on the map for 10 turns, crushing its foes.

Got to mention, the Gauls were literally drowning in gold. Could not trade away the excess.

caerus 31. jan. 2015 kl. 20:08
Awesome mod. Seriously top notch. Only 1 minor complaint: when a mine discovers a metal it is always the same metal after that in discovered mines (e.g. a discovered gold mine will lead to only discovered gold mines (no silver, copper...)). 9/10. Thanks.
