What is the purpose of having both the Halo 2 smg AND the digsite smg?

downloaded this mod to play with a friend and everytime we go to load into a game together it disconnects me (host)from the game, any suggestions on how to fix?

Not only that, they are overzealous AF, they would blow themselves and anyone else infront of it the moment it catches you in its sight. Was one grunt that came out of a corridor with a fuel rod and it just blew them all up, elites and jackals, I didnt even have to shoot because their so aggressive.

@Mr. Biscuit can you nerf the damage on the flak cannon. Its not fun when I use genuine skill to kill like 5 jackals and 3 red elites only for a little flak cannon grunt hiding way in the back oneshots me from afar.

First mod i've played that lets you fly a pelican in ce, very cool experience. If you get in the co pilot seat as it flies out of bounds it becomes driveable.

@Chesapeake Bay Iirc it gives you the option of having a falcon, kestral, spectre, or a banshee if you open the big doors before you head to the canyon where the last three lifeboats are

Sometines on Betrayal the pulse generator cant be interacted with, which leads to a softlock. I had to restart the level to make it work properly.

Great mod but I don't see the point of the various Halo 2 assets (SMG, BR, Fuel Rod Cannon, Carbine, etc.) It kinda makes it feel less like an "E3" mod and more like a hodgepodge imo

Its "E3 2000" so it uses the E3 2000 Hud. Also I will be deleting the new pelicans with the landing gear and co-pilot seat. Its broken and broke the game for me. You can say goodbye to it.

I'm not sure how feasible it is but instead of changing it around you could add the sentinels as a more prominent faction. That way the three war aspect would be there again in some way and you could add more unique combat encounters. I'm not sure what mod it was but I did see some unique Sentinel stuff floating around in the workshop.

Please don't take that as me hating on your decisions, I still really liked a lot of the mod and how you incorporated a lot of stuff from other modders, this is still one of the best CE overhauls currently on the workshop in my opinion

Just my opinion but I'm not the biggest fan of completely allying with the Covies. It works at end of 343 when all hell breaks loose but in Two betrayals it kinda removes the three-way-war aspect that was the only thing interesting about redoing the same level from earlier again. What I think would be more interesting is having it so only maybe the grunts and jackals desert the covenant and the rest of the ones you fight are the ones still following the elites.

Just finished the mod and while the overall experience was pretty good the last few levels could use a few touch-ups. On Two betrayals it was quite confusing telling the hostile and allied covenant apart, sometimes I went into a room and they where friendly and then I walked into the next one and was vaporised (exaggerating), also if you're gonna have me walking through 3/4 of the level without opposition it would be great to have a lot more combat encounters too.
Maw was also a bit of an unstable experience with a few equally confusing sudden alliances, it also froze a few times and crashed at the end cutscene.
If you're gonna have more friendly covenant towards the end of the game I recommend that you give them a bit more of a visual sign beyond forcing me to glance at the radar every few seconds.

(I was only saying that I just don't have any interest in playing the mod at the moment until it's completely finished being worked on.) Gonna update some content in the new update soon. Its kinda broken. The AR is slow because its "beytah" and BR DID NOT! Replace the pistol. It just felt useless in the flood levels.

Obviously you're allowed to do whatever you want with your mod. I'm not going to go out of my way to modify the game myself because other mods accomplish what I want for the game, but I feel it's only appropriate to voice my critique's so other people might also be made aware of these issues with it. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there looking for just any mod they can get their hands on, but I'm not like that and as your mod is available in the public space you've opened it up to critique. Make it however you want though.

Your mod ISN'T hard at all, it's just obnoxious and overinflated. You've not made the flood any more interesting or more of a difficulty to fight, and in fact you've made them easier to run past compared to the standard gameplay progression. You've made it to where it's less worthwhile to actually fight them and better to just run through a level with them being ineffectual with the terrible weapons you've modified and made worse.

I'm fully aware you're allowed to do whatever you want to do with whatever mods you want to do. CE's not a hard game, and my comment wasn't "I played it X years ago", but I've been playing it since then pretty consistently. Difficulty doesn't amount to bad balance decisions made because you want to enforce "artificial difficulty" compared to the original game. All you've truly done is make the gameplay sandbox worse and overinflated by a bunch of extra weapons that outclass their contemporaries. Most of these other mods you mention purposely try to take that into account and balance around this fact but don't outright murder one weapon for the purpose of making another better.

And weapons arent available from the start because it would be too easy. Try searching for them. Flood can use them for their own weapons. I cant add more content because the levels have reached their "max able to be added assets to the level". So only updating this content to be fixed is right now the last thing to do here.

Modding is really hard if you didnt realise yet. Please next time try it out yourself and see how its hard. I get things in my way in real life too. I AM A HUMAN BEING TOO. I am not a Alien going around different dimensions and timelines. Did I rebalance the weapons and usefull vehicle turrets? Yes I did. Nobody really cares if you did play Halo CE "20+ years ago". But at least I know how the game works and how hard it is. Next time try scripting and doing everything in the level scenario yourself and see how there is a lack of people that can help with these things. Nervy, AltSierra117 and Ruby took their time rebalancing and making everything good as they wanted to. I will not mod for people of a type of community that dont really bring their minds together and see how screwed my life is. I might have even died when I spent so much time behind the table modding all summer. Nobody cares about what we want in our mods. Realise its our mod and we do what we WANT TO DO!

My friend and I did pretty extensive testing across the entire weapon sandbox of what we could find in the game, trying every weapon on each other to see how they compare, and I'm just confused as to why the weapon sandbox has so many superfluous additions. Swords should hit considerably harder than they do now, especially if they utilize energy per swing. Heat-based Minigun feels like it should be stronger than the standard one per-bullet since it can't fire continually like the 60-rounder. AR's should feel like how they used to with 60 round mags, but not as accurate as their new brothers, and I feel like the SMG shouldn't be capable of beating out the AR in a mid-range firing contest, but currently right now it can.

What's the most annoying part about this is that The Flood are genuinely my favorite enemy across the entire game series, but there's a smattering of changes here which make the weapon sandbox worse when your newly souped up weapons aren't always available from the start. Miniguns when rolling into The Library would be fantastic, but instead you start with the new Assault Rifle which feels like you're flinging paper clips at enemies, and the new Pistol which feels about as bad as using a single Halo 2 Pistol.

"Master the weapons". I've played Halo for 20+ years. I've beaten all of the games on Legendary (except Halo 5), and I've played almost every single mod on the workshop which reworks Halo: CE, 2, etc. I'm aware Bungie didn't have the time, but at least their standard vanilla weapon sandbox handles the Flood and various other things properly. I like some of the things this mod does, but I can say that across all of the mods I've played this one has the most infuriating weapon sandbox of them all because the mod has just outright made many of the vanilla weapons to where they're not worth using compared to their new counterparts. Perhaps that wasn't intentional and maybe your values are set incorrectly within the mod, I've no idea. I also don't mean to come across as if I'm attacking YOU as an individual with these critiques.

I cant understand how do I even just fix what ive already fixed. You just either "master the weapons" or "youre not a gamer". No offense meant here. I understand that its hard to play trough stuff in this mod, but! Its better to master the weapons then raise difficulties and learn how to properly use the weapons. That was the solution for me. I might have some playtesters to test the last 5 flood levels. I do know theyre broken due to their scripting and the way bungie made it. Realize that Bungie didnt have time.

@Mr. Biscuit Alright i appreciate the response, I'll probably play this mod once it's finished but until then I'm currently playing Ruby's Rebalanced now after having finished Prerelease Macworld mod a few days ago.

This mod is incredibly enjoyable until *THE FLOOD START APPEARING* and then everything becomes a slog. Flamethrower's not great against them. Minigun's good but it's very rare and you'd think having a minigun and starting The Library with one would've been amazing but you start with the worst Assault Rifle and Pistol.

The Sword doesn't even do a full shields worth of damage to a fellow spartan, it does like 2/3rds, and it's basically ineffectual on everything. Pistol's now pointless and the Battle Rifle has taken its spot, but the Battle Rifle is super rare. SMG's better than the standard Assault Rifle and I dunno HOW that's even a thing. AR+GL version is better than the standard Assault Rifle. Minigun's a better melee weapon than the Sword. There's just so many things wrong with the sandbox of this mod, even though there are some things I've genuinely enjoyed about it too.
