Oh cool, so far its a really cool mod, although the Lady of the Lake, Merlin & Arthur keep on getting the Incapable trait, it seems to be really common for them, so you mite wanna add section to their unique traits that they cant get the incapable de-buff etc.
Also another Mod called "Legends of Europe" also has a King Arthur section to their mod, but atm is a bit broken, at least in my exp, but I do recommend checking it out!
I haven't created any events yet, but I'm planning to add them in future updates.
Is there supposed to be events for expanding the round table knights and also events for Arthur falling in love with Elanor.
Also giving Arthur Godlike health can still make him die, and doesn't stop him from ageing so by the time its near 200 he looks thinner than his own skeleton XD.
Have you also thought about adding the Quest for the Holy Grail story, and expanding on general events with other unique characters especially the Lady of the lake?
Weird... Are the mods in the correct load order? (this mod has to be after The Fallen Eagle)
Do you have any other mods running that could affect the bookmarks screen?
There's no one true canon when it comes to Arthuriana. I replied to someone else about Excalibur earlier, but Maldautomne gave a much more detailed breakdown of the evolution of Excalibur below.
But anyway, thank you!
I hope that was interesting for you to read. Sorry for my poor english.
Well done for your work !
- In the latin chronicles ''Historia Regum Britanniae" of Geoffroy de Monmouth, the fabulous sword carried by Arthur is called Caliburn.
- When Wace translates the chronicles in old french, Calinurn becomes Escalibor.
- In the Chrtien de Troyes's novels, Escalibor becomes Excalibur.
- Robert de Boron is the one who imagines the famous episode of the sword in the stone (well, in the enclume...). But the sword has no name in his novel.
Sorry, but since Malory's version has been so influential when it comes to the current view of Arthurian legend, I am using it as one of the main sources for this mod, and I am not planning to change that. Having Oberon as the son of Morgan le Fay and Julius Caesar would be cool, but it doesn't fit at all into the established timeline.
That depends on which version of the story you're going by. The legend of King Arthur was re-told and re-shaped over centuries. In Malory's "Le Morte d'Arthur", while the sword in the stone and the sword given by the Lady of the Lake were two different swords, they were both called Excalibur. The idea that Caliburn specifically refers to the sword in the stone seems to be relatively modern. Originally, it seems like Caliburn and Excalibur were just different transliterations of Welsh Caledfwlch. Caliburn took a more direct route through Latin Caliburnus, while Excalibur took a detour through Old French Escalibor.
To keep things simple, I'm treating them as the same sword.
