@Sabre: There is a mod on Civfanatics called 'Mundus Novus' I think, that does just that: has all the Civs start on one continent, and the other one is empty until you start getting there in Exploration. I love this map style, as it really makes exploring the uninhabited continent a lot funner in exploration!
