I would but due to the way the game developer tells the game engine to use textures specifically on the 1x red dot leaves very little to almost no customization of the reticle. I have tied.

yes aimpoint_reticle is only the 2x red dot.

so aimpoint_reticle only replaces 2x? I was just about to test that, thanks.

To repack a .VPK open e5150's mod using GCFScape. Extract the root containing all the mod content to desktop. You will now have a folder named root on you desktop. Delete inside the root any files in the optics folder named aimpoint_reticule. Now rename the root folder something along the lines of e5150's mod tweak. Open a file browser and navigate to your Steam app folder then to common/insurgency2/bin. Inside the bin folder find the application called vpk. Now drag your renamed root folder onto the vpk application. A command line might appear thats normal. You should then have on your desktop a packed .VPK of your renamed root folder. Now in your Steam app folder navagate to common/insurgency2/insurgency/custom. Place in the custom folder your newly packed .VPK file and dont forget to unsubcribe from e5150's original mod. Boot the game everthing should now work properly.

You have 3 options. The first is to choose between the one you want more and uninstall the other. Secondly see if you can find a unpackaged version of e5150's mod and download the optics you want it install individually. Thirdly your going to have to learn how to package your own .VPK files and repack e5150's mod without the 2x red dot files.

The only mod I have that could interfere would be e5150's bright optics, which include both rds and 2x rds, but looking into his vpk, it seems that the two dot sights aren't separate - they use the same file. any idea how to fix?

You might have another mod that is interfere with it. This does not replace the 1x red dot sight only the red dot sight with the 2x magnifier.

great reticle, but doesn't seem to work all the time? For some guns with the 2x I only have the default red dot...
