i simply rename it as katana sheat

Hello again, wanted to mention that the left katana sheath still appears on the right side. I tried booting a new game after the recent fix (thanks again!), but the issue’s still there. It still forms an “X” shape, with “/” as the sheath and “\” as the katana. Might be best to remove the left sheath and keep the right one for now as the single Katana Sheath. I’m looking at my character’s back, if that helps.

@Ō I'm forced to remove the right sheat for katanas, something in the new game update compromised the switching of worn items.
Now the katana sheat has a single attachment as the other sword sheats.
In the future i will work on this mod adding more positions for attachments and new items.

@Ō As I told you a few comments ago, I'm not the one managing the 3D models, but a guy who offered to help me, but he recently disappeared. I hope he's okay.
So until he comes back or I find another collaborator, I can't modify the 3D models.
As for the switch on the katana sheath model, I'll see what I can do. I remembered it working, but I have no idea why it's broken now. I need to find some time to devote to it and I'll fix it. Thanks for the report!

Hey mate! Just wanted to let you know that the katana sheath still isn’t switching to the left side. It looks like it stays attached to the right even when the left side option is selected, so the katana ends up floating on the left. It’s a small thing, but it breaks immersion a bit. Also, is it possible to make the katana sheath model a little thicker to help avoid clipping with the bushcraft katana? It’s totally okay if not. Really appreciate all the work you’ve put into this mod can't wait for the future stuff with this.

The errors you received could be triggered by Clean UI conflict or maybe by another mod in your list.
To solve your errors and be sure, i suggest to start a new game ONLY with clean ui and this mod, if you receive these errors again, so they are not compatible, if not, another mod in your modlist cause this.

@Mobius i don't know, i don't use those mods, someone told me that pack mule triggers some issues but i never tried it and i can't confirm it.

I tried switching the katana sheath position from left to right and vice versa. However, only the katana changes position while the sheath stays on the right side. I’ve run the mod on its own, and the issue still happens, so it doesn't seem to be a conflict with another mod. Also, would it be possible to simplify the context menu options to just say 'Right' and 'Left'?

ok i fixed it, now you can use a single katana sheat on back so the katana is forced to be put in the proper position

@Ō I've tested katanas right now and they works with their sheats, the only issue after the last game update is that you are able to put more sheats on the back and katanas can be attached to the right even if the sheat is to the left, but i will solve it asap.
If they don't work for you, probably you have some mode that impacts on katanas

@Ō i'd like to have more visual option or more items and models but this is the best my collaborator has managed to do so far. I only work on the code, and initially this mod only changed the way vanilla slots work.
So I can't add any more models without someone's help. Any help with the graphics is welcome. I'd also like to add knife sheaths.

I'm sorry I'm a bit lost, how do you craft a rope sling? I have the rope and rags in my inventory but I cannot find it in the crafting menu

I’m having a bit of trouble attaching the katana to its own sheath it doesn’t seem to work properly, even though other sword sheaths are functioning perfectly. Also, I couldn’t find a work belt in the clothing menu; is that the same as the tool belt?

One more thing I noticed: both the slings and the tool belt appear to float on the body rather than fitting snugly. Would it be possible to have an option to adjust how tight or loose they appear base on clothing to avoid clipping and stuff? Like a toggle button or something. That would help make them look more natural and immersive.

I didn't add any mods, and when I wrote the comment my rifle attachment in my back worked but not the sword seath for a machete, also I couldn't attach a hammer

@Crodum i tested sheats right now and work perfectly, i'm pretty sure your issue is from another mod or maybe you try to put a sword in a sheat made for another one, every sword has its own sheat

Backpacks show up as a question mark icon, is that normal as in they haven't been "sprited" yet or do I have a mod messin it up?
The only bag mod I use is that Pack Mule series (that I'm aware of)

@U.S.N.Sam i'm not a zomboid developper but just a modder, otherwise i would have created the character's inventory differently.
But if you think about it, the inventory is like a container representing all the pockets in your clothes and the various alternative ways to carry an item, such as under your arm, which is how I imagine a spear in the vanilla inventory.
Anyway, the Tetris inventory is a good solution, as suggested. I stopped using it due to balance issues with some items, but perhaps they've been fixed; I should check it out too.

You say its not immersive to have weapon on back without sling yea ok then why can you put spear in you player inventory? And no im not talking about backpack inventory

@Zaxis, Kell of Rocha items in this game have some limits, one of these is that items can't have more categories, so if i script a clothing item it can't be a weapon part too.

Half question half suggestion. Is there a particular reason you make slings an equipable instead of something you attach to a weapon? I feel that would be more interesting as it makes rope more valuable by needing more slings for your weapons, instead of just making 1 sling and then youre sorted. Im thinking having an always available back slot but only slinged weapons can be put there

also, i just thought of a super early game sling

Sock holster: craftable with a sock (and maybe knife or paperclip), attaches to belt, can hold any single-handed weapon with a chance to drop the weapon because it's just a sock

might be too silly and/or powerful xd

sligs provide the back slot, so they already allow axes on back.
About saucepan on backpack, it is a good idea, i will add something similar

A sling for an axe? You should have added a sling to your backpack to carry an axe, or a saucepan, for nomads on foot.

Yes, I understand.
This mod is designed to be fully compatible with the base game, but it will never be compatible with other mods that modify the vanilla hotbar. As the mod's description states, " This mod is for b42 only, it is not compatible with mods that modify the hotbar game files.
It should be compatible with mods that add new slots, but these may not be compatible.
"
There's a 99% chance that the mod you're loading along with this mod will cause this issue.

@SDgamer they mess with one another. My current run, have both installed, weapons still need slings but my belts got two attachment points still. Pretty sure Pack mule takes priority, or has done with the way my load orders sorted anyway.

for some reason im not able to craft cloth sling or rope sling without spwaning, there is no error so i don t know what s wrong
