Hmm, it doesn't show up in my game as well. I'm on a Mac.

This mod doesn't work even when enabled. Writing mastery on several new games to test and the library never shows up. Even when you click on 'view hidden' it doesn't show up.

the enable button is not clickable when i try, mousing over it turns my cursor into a red O with a slash through it

I cannot replicate the issue. Make sure you don't have it installed twice if you downloaded it from somewhere else before.

Do you mean that nothing happens when you click "Enable" in the mod menu or do you mean that it just doesn't appear ingame?

I was lazy, the historic background text is just copied from Civ I through V (only Civ VI has a different text, and it's worse).

The libraries in Antiquity (and later) required a constant effort to copy scrolls, because they would decay fast otherwise. That was done, when there was a budget. At times the libraries in Alexandreia were well financed, at times they were reduced and barely maintained. The books were moved between libraries, some buildings were burnt in fires, demolished, rebuilt, scrolls discarded, traded, robbed, not to mention all those b*stards not returning books on time! (am a librarian)... It is an outdated hypothesis to assign the demise of the library to one event.

"Today, only a portion of the catalog survives," - are there any scrolls that can be traced back to Alexandreia? I have never heard of that. We have hints on what they had though.

It is definitely cut content. That doesn't mean it can't be made part of future official content anymore. But in general, stuff like that for future content isn't added to the game ahead of release.

Thanks for uploading this to Steam workshop. I have been using it already. I got it from CiviFanatics. I wonder if this was exactly cut content or a future item in a DLC or expansion.
