Honestly the whole campaign would be fun like this

its surprising how much this FEELS like a new level at times but its literally the same level 1:1, Reminds me of Mario Kart's Mirror Mode. I wanna see the whole rest of the game done like this

now we need a campaign where its liminal with almost empty levels but theres scares sprinkled through them

Hope you do try that kind of thing for a future project, if not mirroring then some kind of mapping. It takes effort for sure but Half-Life is not a bad place to start, esp HL2, despite it having its quirks. As a sidenote, Source 2's mapping tools are somewhat compatible with Halo.

i had this idea of mirroring CE after seeing a similar mod for HL2. I believed it may help with messing with player's muscle memory to give a sense of a new 'first time playthrough'. I couldnt figure out how to even open maps in the mapping tools and didnt put much effort into figuring it out so its cool to see someone else had a similar idea
