It would be even better if it wasn't a belt, so they could still wear ranged shield belts.

This is pretty great, it will be very good for troops in the middle of a long bug purging operation to retreat from the line of contact, play some Tetris or Tamagotchi or something on their DigiPals, eat some food then get back into the fight.

so for dr.rrrrockso' idea I'd like to add make sure its compatable with the mad skills mod as it changes the behavior of the Great Memory trait.

I'd like to offer my own idea as well make a branch mod to allow for more utility slot items because 1 I can wear a Backpack AND a Belt I can put a cellphone on a belt and I can add more things on my belt than just the cell phone clip.

as the game is I'm sad to say this mod loses for Mechanitors bandwidth packs and the VAE Ranged Shield belt and base game shield belts.

normally I'd use the mod: More Utility Slots but its not been seen since 2020 and it was an amazing mod.

but anyway keep up the good work this mods got a spot in my games, for child rearing & Base bitch pawns that can't fight, but that's about it sadly more slots would see more use from good mods like this.

All great ideas! I am a bit stuck studying worldgen code for 1.6, but I will keep in mind what was suggested here.

Suggestion:
Make the device a portable vitals monitor, valid only for the user
Medical Tend Quality Offset by +7%
Surgery Success Chance Factor by +5%
Immunity Gain Speed Factor by +2%

Add reduced trait effect "great memory"
×25% Skill loss rate

Right now I am quite busy at work, but I plan to slowly build up Fallout-related Rimworld style mods, and then do a big "reskin" mod that will let you make a Fallout playthrough.

Why? Because I cannot dedicate myself to a huge project, but little-by-little a big thing can be built, and then it will be easier to reskin/rename the whole thing as submod, while allowing people to already play with parts in existing games without breaking the RImworld vibe.

That, or maybe FCP will finally release in full, who knows :).

what other bits do you plan on doing for this? this is so awesome btw

No, it's a belt, it acts the same as belts in vanilla.

Does this have some art on pawn itself?

Looks amazing, can't wait to try it out. Thanks for making this and the autodoc!

Good idea, to make it later available/more expensive MK2, but freeing the belt slot. I will finish a couple of mods that are in progress, and revisit it.

Can we get a smartwatch version of this? Higher tech level and more expensive of course.

P.S. I consider a bigger arc with RimTek-focused quests/content that you have to work harder for, like techprints. But for now I want to build a library of powerful post-industrial tools, make sure people like them, and worry about bigger arc later.

Indeed I wanted to make a strong item since:
- I do tend to play a lot of Industrial starts with Spacer enemies. The difficulty in my game lays in numbers of enemies/not using killboxes/setting up many enemy factions.
- I want RimTek mods to be "between industrial and spacer", giving more powerful options BEFORE you start messing with Advanced components and such.

I also have a bunch of mods planned in the same style, that I am really struggling to push out since it's my first attempts at coding, and I am trying to make sure they are:
- Working both on 1.5 and 1.6.
- Optimized and do not cause performance issues.

So if you can tolerate playing with slightly overpowered utility items that serve a certain role in making your life better, then I will excuse myself for now, and then make another pass at balancing.

seems a little strong for the price?
Maybe an advanced component would be more apropriate here?
Since it's basically an upgrade from a gunlink, which takes an advanced component to produce...

pretty strong device

1.6 version is up. There was a small change in GUI method, tested to work on Unstable.
