Same here, even when one of my pawns are killed the grudges system never seems to work

Hello! I think this would be awesome, but I'm having an issue in testing. Idk if this is a me thing or not, but I sent a raid with debug actions and got a colonist killed. Grudge menu picked it up fine, with the killer's name "Shaen", Age, Faction name, Reason, and Issuer "Mousonios Machoneos" (The father of Baboon, the victim.). However, when I click to Track Down Shaen, I get an error, and the quest within my quest menu isn't... helpful. Nothing shows up on the map or anything. @The Ocean I didn't edit the file with the original translation and even deleted and downloaded the mod again to see if the error would be fixed. But for some reason, it remained. I also tried setting the game to English, but that didn't help

@st.rusik it seems like the game, for some reason cant default back to english properly for the mod if theres no available translation. have you touched the english language files in the mod at all?

I seem to be the only one with this issue, but I've been subbed to this mod for months and have never had a grudge generate in any existing or new saves. At least, none that appear in the Grudge tab.

For some reason, I get these errors when I try to generate a quest to find a target for revenge. And in the quest text itself, I get empty areas that are surrounded by [ ] symbols instead of inserted values, names, and so on. In addition, it also seems that it does not generate the quest base. I tested this without any other mods installed

The mod in particular it may have conflicted with was the Warrants Mod, but again I'm not sure. I'll have to experiment with it in a completely different mod setup.

@Kerian Halcyon makes sense, this mod is very dependent on a few patches working absolutely correctly so mod conflicts can and will fully break it

@Ilunak youre right, i looked into it more and the only good way to keep the spirit of the mod going, (that being record keeping) with my lack of real time rn to restructure was to make my own GC that purges the historical tab if there are too many grudged (over 50)

I was unfortunately unable to get it to work, not sure if it was due to a mod conflict or not (the mods I had set up were kind of janky to begin with). The grudges tab was a blank, non-interactible tab that just kind of sat there taking up space. I'll have to give this a try again at a later date.

@The Ocean It technically does only keep a reference, but the referenced pawns need to be kept, and would be discarded without the reference.

that's weird, to my understanding it shouldn't bloat as i'm saving just the reference and not the actual pawn

This mod bloats save files. About half of my save file are records about 2000 dead pawns, including every single sheep slaughtered. That unconditional ForcefullyKeptPawns.Add() in RegisterGrudgeIfValid() is certainly wrong.

In Languages->English->Keyed->Keys.xml, the completion text is still:
"A grudge has been completed. Remember to make this actual flavor"
Just thought you'd appreciate a heads up, and if this bugs anyone else in the meantime, that's where you can fix it yourself.

hello first of all nice mod.my grudge tab gor bugged unfortunetly.
had 2 grudges one was completed. now both show up in active tab and without the usual description just with rival colony symbols. has anybody have a work around on that?

What about being able to complete grudges for other factions? Like, you get a quest all "yadi yada, killed a beloved member of [faction], too busy or cowardly to chase killer themselves, offering a psychic emanator for vengeance."

The mod requires a stack to be destroyed. They don't count as "killed" otherwise, but it does technically work. It won't break your game or anything.

@Starlight-Ellie this would also work for altered carbon, because the sleeve's death isn't exactly pleasant either. In the series, the characters aren't exactly thrilled when they get killed. One of the criminals even takes revenge on the main character after his stack is transplanted into a new body following his murder. By the way, I wonder if this mod will hold a grudge if the neural stack is transplanted into another body?

the concept itself is pretty cool, i might not use this because i play with altered carbon, but i love the simple idea of the pawns rememberin that guy who killed his dog, then hunting then john wick style

Did anyone die? The mod isn't omnipotent, it can't know everything that's "good" or "bad" it has pretty set things that qualify as "bad". This isn't built to always be noted, nor is it meant to be incredibly overwhelming. It's a minor mod to allow you revenge. If you want a mod that makes you chase violence against your enemies recklessly, try instead playing with ideology and the raider precept.

Not to mention it's been said that more grudge triggers are on the way. Maybe I should make it more obvious since reading isn't people's strong suits...

Make it so you can add grudges of your own. Mod is completely useless without it. Visitors came and betrayed my settlement, Destroyed everything and injured everyone. Not a single grudge even though most of them ran away.

@konstantynopolitaneczka this mod is meant to be played with a hard difficulty where death would be more expected and is meant to be a way for you to get revenge against pawns you were already gonna kill. If someone kills a pawn and then you kill them instantly, that's not really something i can help. I do plan on making them trigger on lost limbs too to increase frequency

I played with this mod for like 30 hours and I can say I only had a few grudges during that entire time on ONE save (which of these also got autocompleted under a minute). Ngl, very underwhelming mod, it has potential, but currently it either doesn't work properly or has very restrictive limitations on how it activates
