maybe it is. but so far I can see its good for 4.1+ as I use it my self. I'm trying to figure out how to make this work for bio ship sets but so far no luck with that. damn components wont work and other weird bio ship stuff have yet to figured out. so as long your not gonna play with bio ship sets it should be fine.

compatible with other mods? hope for you they work with mods you use because don't expect any compatibility from me.

Probably a dumb question, but is this mod still good for 4.1? And what kind of mods would this be incompatible with? Bc this looks so cool and im fiendin for this in my next play through🙏

They use both cannons and fleets, I seen the AI launch a defense force fleet of 10 K and have had my fleets unloaded on by planetary cannons while trying to bombard them lol. They are pretty awesome

I know you said you won't make compatibility for other mods since that's painfully annoying and I totally get that, but would you consider switching the prereq buildings from the city centers to Stronghold/Fortress respectively? Sorry for asking for something you already said no to, but this would provide compatibility for a LOT of mods all at once. Again, sorry!

On planetary Cannons I can confirm AI use them but it was very late game and few canons and weakest version. Defense fleet have not see it.

AI will prioritize economy so by the time that is fine most planets prob have full slots.

So players prob benefits most from it as you make designated planets at choke points into military strong hold.

It can save your but from stronger AI fleet and you go huge army on the planet with a canon or 2.

@Azona Thank you for updating the original mod! I have a combined question regarding your 4.0 update of this mod and your 4.0 update of Planetary Cannons.

Does the AI utilize the feature in the Planetary Defenses mod and/or the Planetary Cannon mod as well and consistently/viably? Or is this something that would primarily benefit the player? I imagine AI behavior can be a nightmare to figure out (I'm not a modder though) so curious if there were any issues with AI using the features of this mod.

I didn't see a comment discussing this in the comments section so wanted to reach out. Thanks!

I know what it does. I just don't see the use of it with new default game options available. got other projects I'm working on then I need revisit some other once I did and fix minor things and don't have all the time of the world. i'm far from good at this either so takes lot of time my own free time. Be lucky I like these mods enough to fix them for my self and share my fixes otherwise you had nothing at all. I could just keep this all private for me and my friends.

I could have done non of this and what I do and try to do is far beyond me and my skills with 0.0 programming skills because I have none. its all learning by do things, try things and pray to god it works. and little help of ChatGPT.

@Azuna, that mod, however, automatically rebuilds all of your stations instead of you having to replace destroyed ones

I personally do not think its needed with new perk that automatically build 50% for free. so no I did not

Hmm today I noticed a bug, at moment cannot really fix anything as my pc is currently unavailable but ill will fix it when I have access and the time. not sure if impacts the game it does seems to function.

Would it be possible to add artillery combat computers to the patrol ships? I know it's technically changing the original design, but patrol ships seem to be based on corvettes. (A little bit of frigates too) Since corvettes can now use artillery combat computers, I feel like it's still in the scope of the original design. You wouldn't be making them do something a corvette can't do.

Mod is tested and working fine. must be other mod you have that interfering and causing the problem. put this mod last in loading order to make sure it is loaded in last and see if issue is gone. otherwise good luck finding what causes the problem and either disable that mod or make a patch so mods play nice.

Thanks for updating the mod to 4.0; the graphic for the patrol craft in the ship designer is either missing from the original mod or broken here, with the code for what should be the graphic appearing when you hover over the Patrol Craft ship type.

I do plan to update others if I'm capable pulling that off. but at moment my time is limited and my cat got missing yesterday so..... got other priority's at the moment.

I concur with @Lazy Author , compatibility with the most popular mods is KEY. I honestly dont see people using a mod without having atleast a few.
