I know you said you're following the lore, but as a Warhammer nerd I don't understand why the stats between the different state's Swordsmen or Handgunners would be so different and generally poorer. Even though I subscribed to all of these mods, I find I'm not really recruiting any of these units anymore just because they aren't good.
A lot of work needs to be done on how these mods actually functions in gameplay before its worth using, when ZC's reskin which accounts for provincial factions (and includes command squads and banners) combined with Mixu's Legendary Lords achieves a very similar outcome in a much more usable form.
Or you can do à @Rheinländer said : I downloaded the same mod while Spanish Inquisition finalise his mods. (Beware though, there are several versions of said mod including one which also add 100+ units (only recolored empire units, not as detailed and polished as Spanishs' ones), which is not so interesting).
Will it be save game compatible (for those who litteraly can not wait) ?
