Feel like she should be immune to them trinkets in some ways, maybe just make them stuck in her inventory but not transform her into monkey? Or maybe just turn her into ghostly monkey? lol

I've been working on some equipped item QoL/having them be able to provide some more effects during possession as well. It's a bit tricky because certain items like the cane would grant a huge advantage for effectively no cost. I couldn't finish the update this weekend unfortunately, but hopefully next week!

That's strange to hear about the aggro issue, when I fought Dragonfly she would just wait in place when de-aggro'd. I think keeping aggro for a brief period after possessing an item/structure and during awakening is a great idea. Thanks as always for your feedback!

简略中文介绍:
角色为幽灵女孩,具有怪物属性,会被中立生物主动攻击
移动方式为漂浮,所以不会被蜘蛛网等因素减速,也不会因为道路、卵石路等因素加速
无法使用治疗物品回复生命值
进食免疫负面属性
白天攻击力较低且会损失理智,黄昏和夜晚攻击力升高,黑暗中恢复理智值
可以消耗饱食度附身一切生物或物品,附身之后减少光照下的理智值损失,但是行动和发动特殊能力会大量消耗饱食度,附身后攻击力只与宿主相关,饱食度不够时会脱离附身,任何情况下脱离附身后一段时间内都会承受一部分附身期间宿主承受的伤害
部分生物(BOSS)需要先击败一次才能附身
因为技术问题,附身其他模组中的生物或物品可能导致BUG,作者留出了为可附身宿主添加附身特殊能力/效果的代码接口,感兴趣者可以自行设置

Other thing is how hard it is to keep agro and hold ground while tanking damage. If Wieneke tries to tank and gets knocked out of host, healing herself+item, possessing, awakening, reagro, all takes so much time compared to others just healing themselves.

This problem is especially frustrating on Dragonfly fight. If soloing it, after possessing+awakening, DF completely deagros, goes to the middle of arena and must be pulled back behind walls. Also this makes impossible to keep Celestial Scion in corner which is vital for the fight.

Maybe a change to keep mobs agro for some time after possessing an item and during awakening animation would be nice?

More feedback after beating all the bosses including WARBOT:

Possessed creatures lack any options to increase their speed. Equipped items like Cane and Magilumi doesn't provide speed during possession. It is very noticeable on dodge reliant bosses like Nightmare Werepig and Armored Bearger.

It would be nice to have some food/item that increases speed during possession.

I just discovered this epooky lil' spectre today, and I must say, I am in love with her gameplay and design alike! She has easily become one of the very few modded characters I will add to my worlds, and I'm excited to see what you'll do with her down the line!

Perhaps one day a Skill Tree is in her future!

I admit, I do have a skill issue adjusting kite timing depending on creature wind up animation. And I had no idea player hitbox is inherited, it is not obvious at all, even when getting hit a lot. I also somehow forgot rock lobster exists, it is very good.

Thanks for the tip about component function, it is working well! Here Wieneke The Lemure [Addon] . There are also some features in there I wanted to try with her but they are kinda cheaty :P

As a heads-up, possessed creatures actually inherit your player character's hitbox. I personally don't have too much trouble kiting with them: if you do get hit, you essentially have 90% armour (without sacrificing body/head slot) so in my opinion it checks out. Remember attack damage scales with wind-up time as well, which is why clops for example has such ridiculous on-hit damage.

I probably won't be adding mod-specific features unless I've played with the mod myself. It shouldn't be too difficult to write an add-on to Wieneke however: I would listen to whatever event triggers when you drink something, and then in the wieneke_damagebuffer component, UnbufferDamage(amount) is the function you'd want to call. If you need more help with that, feel free to ping me in the Klei/UM discord!

Unfortunately not all creatures are "good" at combat, but I think that's okay. I think it's cool that you technically could fight with a spider or frog if you really wanted to. Of course I would love to give those ones an interesting ability/perk in return, but there are a butt-load of creatures, and getting through them all will take time.

You have to adjust your hit/dodge timing with a lot of creatures because of the different attack wind-up times, which I also wouldn't consider a bad thing. Personally, my favourites alongside the giants are usually Koalefant, Rock Lobster, and Rook, so it's cool to see yours are slightly different. I might adjust MacTusk and Bishop's range a bit, at the moment they should be set a bit higher than other mob's max range, but I believe it's still too low.

Some feedback on possession.

I found that excluding bosses the only creatures I ever want to capture are Mosquito/Hound for travel, Rook for chopping/mining and Tallbird/Charged Volt Goat for fighting (in daytime/rain). Any other creature have combination of too long attack wind up time, too slow movement speed (even with sprint) and too low health to hit/kite/tank at the same efficiency as Wieneke herself with Hambat, Cane and Log Suit. You can use stray spider/pig to hit seasonal boss a few times, but that is all.

Ranged mobs like Walrus and Bishop are the biggest disappointment, they can't even hunt birds with that range.

And the bosses, they have such slow attack wind up and fat hit box that any kiting is almost impossible. The only option is facetank all fights and hope you have enough health/healing for that. Thankfully AOE attacks and sheer DPS on Deerclops and Dragonfly compensate for that and Ancient Guardian is the best taxi/single target hitter.

I got an idea about Don't Starve: Dehydrated I mentioned before.

How about any thirst restoration from drinks/food will also alleviate stored Possession Pains (maybe at half efficiency as healing)?

The idea of gobbling two bottles of sparkling water after getting kicked out of your Dragonfly, to get right back in fight or having your sanity being destroyed by quenching veggie juice as a price for continuing fighting. Sounds cool to me.

Hey, in the latest update the limit to an awakened creature's damage cap has been effectively removed. The damage cap has also been buffed to 30% of a creature's max HP per hit, meaning you can now always take at least 3 hits before dying. I might still make canisters drop some of their resources if the creature is killed later, but hope that helps for now.

Also yeah, there's a few things I haven't written about, sorry about that. There's a ton of stuff to get through so it can be difficult to remember to document everything.

No wait, it will affect mobs that has base health 100 and below. I guess it would help, for ice and fire hound specifically would be nice. Still very easy to get killed and waste those moon rocks and goop :C

Removing the cap of 25 damage so each creature can survive at least 2 hits? I think it will only change batilisks and butterflies, that is quite pointless. It is more the tediousness of getting 2 moon rocks and glommer goop for each mistake that is getting to me.

Also I am pretty sure that the damage caps are not mentioned anywhere here, I just now realise that the hound I possessed should have been one shot by that deerclops.

The last point I unfortunately have to disagree on. You do get full control over when to possess, so you should be able to determine when it's safe to do so. The range and slingshot-like speed of the jump can also dodge attacks if used wisely. Since possessing can be used for temporary invulnerability and aggro loss, I think it's a fair trade that you can get hit if you miss the timing.

That said, I do understand the point about misjudging timing/distance and possibly getting punished harshly for it, but there's still room for counter-play here by putting on armour beforehand.

Yeah, unfortunately Ewecus among some other monsters like Splumonkeys use an odd way of attacking, which would require a bit of manual effort to get them to work. I imagine spitter's part of that group. There's still a lot of creatures that don't have unique abilities, so I'd prefer to spend time on the more unique ones first.

I haven't personally played much with low health monster captures, but I could see it being frustrating especially if they're within one-shot territory. At the moment, possessed creatures can only take up to 45% of their health in damage at once, but it's capped at 25 damage. Would it help if the cap was removed for awakened creatures?

It is sad that possessed Spitter Spider can't spit and Ewecus can't attack at all.
(Plus all possessed range mobs kinda suck with how much their range is reduced)

Also I like the jar, but its cost, the fact that it breaks on mob death combined with how hard it is to keep regular possessed mobs with half health alive, all making it very underwhelming. Maybe it should drop empty jar or some resources back when mob dies?

And the animation of possession itself. I think it should have invulnerability while you are doing it or at least some damage reduction. Unlike before, with how new Possession Pains work, player will be punished to their own health pool even if they spam possession. So the 1-2 seconds of animation where you are completely helpless shouldn't be so punishing if you misjudged timing or distance.

I’m enjoying the mod a lot. However, I’m not quite sure how to capture creatures using the Quelling Canister. I’ve read the thread below, but it’s still unclear to me. It would be great if there were a detailed video or guide showing how to use it. (This is probably due to my own lack of understanding.) Thank you for making such an amazing mod.

Oops. Figured out I can take Warblers on joyrides, even when disabled and inactive. WARBOT and Terramites both don't let me control them, which I think is intentional.
