i'm not sure if it happens with the other survivors, including your other sets
lemme know if you need a screenshot and i'll ask my friend to get one for you
that could help pinpoint down the issue
if you don't mind a minor spam of copy paste:
Teen Angst Zoey had the Clavicle bone weight problem. That bone, if weighted to any mesh in the arms rig, caused stretched triangles using some melee weapons (and other custom items). Also, the arms cannot be simply plopped in the arms rig and used without changing the way it's weighted. It mostly shows when someone animates to the extremes. Some animators would use simplified skeletons to animate with. Sometimes these skeletons would lack all the bones the standard Valve biped would use. The arms of the survivors were weighted to use each bone in the Valve biped skeleton. Meaning if you had a mesh that was weighted with every joint in an animation set that didn't use all those joints, the weighted areas would have nowhere to place, so they'd stretch to origin as a fallback to prevent the game from crashing from an index error.
i've confirmed it wasn't just me
sent this over to a friend of mine who also streams on twitch
been watching him, and it is definitely a legit issue
although, yes, it seems to just stand out with custom melee
however, the fact it even happens only with that model confirms it
using the same melee weapon with other survivor models doesn't show it
like i said earlier, it could be related to arby26's teen angst zoey, clavicle bone weight
totally confident you could figure it out when you have time
oh, and i do understand, as per your profile, modding is at the bottom of your list
just thought it was a good idea to mention i confirmed this didn't happen to just me
They also replace the passing models, right?
It's possible to do your own though, I just never got around to it. IIrc Francis has a slightly different UV between 2008 and 2007, but I believe there's a 2k version of his 2008 texture in the sources under the "unknown" folder in the textures.
Using the source files linked in the description, would I be able to use the higher res textures from the 2007 survivors with the 2008 bump maps, or are the textures themselves too different for that?
2007 is an upgrade, they have a separate texture for the mouth, they have shine, and moving eyes
2008 is a massive step up with normal maps for all survivors, but the textures were downgraded for Xbox 360 optimization, and Louis got a bandoleer and a hoodie
If you don't care about texture quality, I go with 2008 most times, the normal maps make them look amazing, but if you REALLY want them 2k textures, or just don't like the new Louis model, 2007 is the next best thing
lord knows we've both had our fair share of drama lately
i just know, like mapping, sometimes there are some oversights in modding
and sometimes things don't stand out unless you go fully custom with items

Things usually stand out with customs
maybe it's a custom melee weapon issue
i only checked with bill, with this 2007 version
"stuff" is on the screen, you'll know when you see it
was using custom lightsaber melee weapon set
but it only happens with the ones you hold with both hands

thanks for keeping the old versions they don't have this problem
Like animation ports, survivor ports, etc.
I don't work on L4D1 stuff anymore really, and I have no want to release anything more to this community
I've given out sources to a ton of my stuff, and files extracted from paid-for programs, if people want more, they can make it themselves, the L4D0 Mega file is STILL up, and has more than enough content for people to make mods with
If you mean decals they had like several versions of them
