Okay
Tweaked the volume of the sound by around 70%, it shouldnt be too loud anymore.
thanks for the feedback!
I am gonna see what I can do and reduce the overall volume of the sounds.
I just really, really, REALLY wish there was a function to turn down the PDA volume without lowering the master volume of the game. It is SO loud that if you lower the master volume you can't hear the rest of the game very well.
Hotkey is working fine, the issue lies on your end. As for the sandbox settings, can't promise anything as I am occupied with a big project currently.
@Saph
Thanks for reporting, I think I will disable the song interaction for MP for the time being until I figure out a good way of synchronising the playing.
Было бы здорово, если бы вы еще добавили возможность менять клавишу в настройках песочницы
Yes, you can add it mid-playthrough you’ll just need to visit areas you haven’t looted yet or where the loot has already respawned to find the PDA.
thanks for the feedback!
The sound is implemented the same way as other in-game sounds and respects the game’s audio settings, so the issue is likely on your end.
Regarding the hotkey: as noted in the description, there’s already a map hotkey =>Numpad 0. The PDA simply calls the vanilla map function, so I’m fairly confident the problem is caused by the Darker Maps mod.
1) The PDA sound when you open the map or use it for weather? It does not follow the setting for game or master sound. It's VERY loud.
2) It would be awesome that if you have the PDA equiped on your hotbar and you pull it out and press M while using the setting to only allow map with PDA, if the map opens up instead of having to right click and open map.
3) Not sure if the PDA has anything to do with darker maps not working
Thanks!
What exactly is causing the errors? If you don’t mind, could you head over to the Bugs & Issues thread and describe the problem in a bit more detail, so I can look into fixing it?
Currently the battery is required for all radio interactions and it is drained when left on. Everything else is as of now "free". As for the sandbox option to hide the song, I will think about that.
@sprya
Its currently not planned making it craftable but I might take a look at it once I have a bit more time.
I didn't tested it with split screen and controller but it should work with that I guess?
Feel free to check it out
I dont get what you exactly want here. The PDA functions as a standard vanilla walkie talkie with its standard radio panel, nothing more and nothing less.
You would need to ask the author of the overhaul mod to make it compatible because the PDA is codewise a standard walkie talkie with custom features on top of it.
im not saying make an entire ui im just saying make it so at least it opens the vanilla panel just like true music
That's not supposed to happen. I will take a look at it this weekend
No errors found. The only issue is the mini map closes automatically when holding the PDA while driving.
As long as your character is holding the PDA the minimap should not close automaticall
Do you get any errors? I am going try to reproduce that once I have a bit more time
Thanks a lot!
There are already two ways to open the PDA without clicking on it:
Shortcut: Press Numpad 0 to open the map.
Mini Map: Hold down M and select "Mini Map" (if the mini map option is enabled).
Both methods will automatically equip the PDA in your primary hand, because you can’t view the map while it’s just hanging on your belt
Thanks for the suggestion! At the moment, that feature isn’t planned, as it would throw off the balance of the item and make it a bit too overpowered.
However, I’ve been toying with the idea of creating modular upgrades for the PDA, each offering different features and a scanner module could definitely be one of them but it would function a bit differently then a minimap with pinpoint zombie displaying.
That said, everything is still in the concept phase for now.
Loving this mod so much, every time want to find this incredible item
Thanks a lot!
There is a sandbox setting for Fahrenheit
Thanks! As for the compatibility: Did you test it and can confirm that it doesnt work?
Thanks!
Adding compatibility for True Music will take a bit of time, so I won’t be doing that as of now, as I’m currently occupied with a big project - Post-Soviet Armory B42 Revamp
Buuuut if someone wants to sponsor that feature, I could definitely reevaluate the importance of it lmao
As for the player restrictions, I think I understand what you’re aiming for. However, the map and minimap settings are global in vanilla.
What you’re describing would require a custom mod that assigns specific flags to individual players and grants them access to certain vanilla functions. So unfortunately, it’s not possible using vanilla settings alone.
New update is out!
You can now use the minimap with the PDA and even restrict it to PDA-only access if you want.
Check the change notes for full details!
I’ve found a solid approach to implement the frequently requested minimap feature. The first draft is already working, but still needs some refinement. (You can also expect a new and familiar sound!)
Stay tuned for the next update!
Currently, there’s no such option. I’m a bit tied up with a big project at the moment, but I’ll take a look at the possibility tomorrow.
No promises but if it’s doable without causing issues, it might be added very soon.
New custom PDA 3D model now also works in Build 41. Enjoy!
